Pippen will come off the bench in Thursday's game against Houston, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
With Ja Morant (shoulder) returning from a five-game absence Thursday, Pippen will slide back to the bench. Over his last 10 outings (six starts), the 24-year-old has averaged 12.9 points, 4.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 23.8 minutes per contest.

Grizzlies' Scotty Pippen: Stuffs stat sheet in win
Pippen logged 18 points (6-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five boards, five steals, four assists and a block in 28 minutes of action during the 119-104 win over the Grizzlies on Monday.
The third-year guard has excelled as a starter this season, and his performance with the first unit in Monday's contest was no different. He particularly shined on the defensive side of the ball, where he set a career-high mark in steals. Ja Morant (shoulder), Desmond Bane (ankle) and Marcus Smart (finger) have murky return timetables, but so long as they remain sidelined, Pippen should remain firmly in the first unit. His next outing comes Thursday against the Rockets.

Pippen shifted into the starting lineup, replacing Ja Morant who was sidelined due to a back injury. The promotion afforded Pippen significant playing time, during which he delivered his best game in almost a month. Prior to Saturday, Pippen had exceeded 20 minutes only once in the past nine games. If Morant is forced to miss more time, Pippen should continue to see an uptick in minutes and quite possibly, production.

Pippen closed Saturday's 142-131 win over the Bulls with 30 points (13-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and 10 assists across 31 minutes.
Pippen hadn't been putting up good scoring numbers of late, as he had failed to surpass the 15-point mark in four of his previous five contests. However, Pippen bounced back admirably and notched his best scoring mark of the campaign -- and by a wide margin. Pippen has been playing well as the starting point guard in place of Ja Morant (hip), and even though Pippen's numbers will likely experience a regression once Morant is ready to return, Pippen seems to have earned a steady role in the rotation going forward.
