Juzang was one of the Jazz's best players for a second consecutive preseason game, and he seems to be gaining steam toward earning a spot on the regular-season roster despite playing on a two-way deal. Juzang has shot 11-for-14 from the field in two preseason games, and his performance over the subsequent contests could strengthen his grip on a rotation role with the regular season approaching quickly.

Juzang notched 19 points (7-9 FG, 5-6 3Pt), a rebound and two assists across 19 minutes off the bench in Friday's 116-87 preseason win over the Breakers.
The bench players received significant run in the preseason opener, and Juzang made the most of his opportunity, leading Utah in scoring and showing he might belong at the NBA level despite playing on a two-way deal. A couple more strong showings in preseason could allow Juzang to compete for a regular-season roster spot.

Jazz's Johnny Juzang: Remaining in Utah
The Jazz signed Juzang to a four-year, $12 million contract Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Juzang spent the last two seasons with the Jazz on two-way contracts, splitting time between the G League and NBA clubs. In 2023-24, he averaged 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.6 minutes across 20 NBA regular-season appearances for the Jazz. With Juzang signing his new contract, it appears that Utah sees him as a long-term piece for the franchise.

The Jazz extended a qualifying offer to Juzang on Saturday, making him a restricted free agent, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.

Juzang has appeared in only 16 games for the Jazz this season, but he came out of nowhere with a career-high 27 points during the loss. The UCLA product has been a lethal long-range threat with the G League's Salt Lake City Stars, and he showed the same sharpshooting prowess Sunday with seven three-pointers. Juzang has likely earned himself additional playing time in the final week after this impressive performance.

The absence of Lauri Markkanen (quadriceps) has created an opening in the Jazz rotation that Juzang has done his best to fill -- in three of the five games Markkanen has missed so far, Juzang has played at least 20 minutes.
