Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Won't play Saturday vs. Hornets
Porter (illness) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Hornets, Evan Dammarell of DownEuclid.com reports.
Porter will be sidelined for a second straight game due to an illness, and his next opportunity to play will be against the Heat on Sunday. Porter hasn't seen much playing time off the Cavs' bench as of late and has recently spent time in the G League with the Cleveland Charge.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Ruled out Thursday
Porter (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against the Nuggets, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
After posting 12 points, eight assists, six rebounds and one steal in 33 minutes for the G League's Cleveland Charge during a Thursday morning loss to the Motor City Cruise, Porter was a late addition to the NBA injury report and didn't suit up for the Cavaliers on Thursday night. His next chance to suit up will come Saturday versus the Hornets. The 24-year-old's absence shouldn't cause too many waves in the rotation, as he hasn't played more than seven minutes in a game over the Cavaliers' last five contests. Porter has recently made two appearances in the G League, but he's struggled mightily with his shot, going 10-for-31 from the field and 2-for-11 from deep. While he dished out 14 assists in those two games, he also coughed up 10 turnovers.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Late addition to injury report
Porter is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Nuggets due to an illness.
After a brief stint in the G League with the Cleveland Charge, Porter is back with the Cavaliers but is in danger of missing Thursday's contest. With the Cleveland rotation nearly back to full strength, Porter won't be in store for meaningful minutes if he's cleared to play Thursday.

The Cavaliers assigned Porter to the G League's Cleveland Charge on Thursday.
Porter has been a regular part of the Cavaliers' rotation this season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.4 assists in 9.4 minutes across 16 NBA appearances. The 24-year-old guard will likely return to the NBA after a brief stint in the G League.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Recalled to NBA
The Cavaliers recalled Porter from the G League's Cleveland Charge on Tuesday.
Porter played 30 minutes against the Skyforce Tuesday, notching 13 points (5-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists, four rebounds and two steals. He then played six minutes at the NBA level Tuesday night against the Wizards, scoring two points with two assists.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Season-best numbers in loss
Porter ended with 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists over 25 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 120-117 loss to the Celtics.
The second-year guard saw his largest workload of the season due to injuries to Max Strus (ankle), Caris LeVert (knee) and Isaac Okoro (ankle), and Porter responded with his highest scoring output so far in 2024-25. The Wichita State product could continue to see an increased role in the short term, but LeVert's return in particular will likely bump Porter back to the end of the bench.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Limited again in victory
Porter had three points (1-1 FG, 1-2 FT), one rebound and two assists in 11 minutes during Wednesday's 114-106 victory over the 76ers.
Porter logged 11 minutes in the win, the first time his playing time has exceeded double-digits all season. Having won 13 straight games to begin the campaign, the Cavaliers are unlikely to tinker with their rotation unless absolutely necessary. For that reason, Porter is destined to remain nothing but a depth piece, at least for the foreseeable future.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Plays five minutes in return
Porter (thumb) logged two assists and one rebound in five minutes off the bench in Saturday's 114-113 win over the Bucks.
Porter had missed the previous three games with a right thumb sprain before he returned to action Saturday in the second leg of the back-to-back set. Prior to suffering the injury, Porter hadn't been part of the rotation, but head coach Kenny Atkinson turned the reserve guard loose for five minutes in the second quarter Saturday, and he performed well during his time on the court. However, if Caris LeVert (knee) is back in action for Monday's rematch with the Bucks, Porter is likely to fall back out of the rotation.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Out Wednesday
Porter (thumb) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Lakers.
Porter will miss a second straight game due to a right thumb sprain. His absence shouldn't have a major impact on the Cavaliers' rotation, as Ty Jerome has emerged as the primary backup point guard behind Darius Garland early in the 2024-25 campaign.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Not playing Monday
Porter (thumb) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Knicks, per the NBA's injury report.
Porter may have picked up the injury during the Cavaliers' 135-116 win over the Wizards on Saturday. He's played only four minutes off the bench over his last two outings, so the Cavs' rotation won't take a big hit for Monday's contest. Porter's next chance at suiting up will be at home against the Lakers on Wednesday.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Fully cleared to play
Porter (ankle) has been a full-go at Cleveland's Summer League practices, Evan Dammarell of FearTheSword.com reports.
Porter suffered a season-ending ankle injury back on April 14, but he's been able to fully participate at practice with no complications. Porter played some key rotation minutes for the Cavaliers in 2023-24, and he's likely to be a featured player for them during the Summer League.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Won't play Wednesday
Porter (ankle) won't suit up for Wednesday's Game 5 in Boston, Spencer Davies of SI.com reports.
Porter is set to miss his 12th straight game, and with Caris LeVert (knee) and Donovan Mitchell (calf) also out, Darius Garland will get all the run he can handle. There should also be ample minutes for Max Strus and Dean Wade.

Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Unlikely to play Wednesday
Porter (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Celtics.
Porter is expected to miss his 12 straight game Wednesday due to a left ankle sprain. While Porter's upgraded status suggests he's nearing a return, Cleveland being down 3-1 to Boston could mean the series will be over before the rookie guard can suit up again.
