Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Ends season on shelf
Ivey (lower leg) didn't play in the Pistons' final 55 games of the 2024-25 season, including the playoffs.
Ivey hasn't played since Jan. 1 due to a broken left fibula, and with Detroit now eliminated from the playoffs, he will have to wait until next season to see any game action. However, the 23-year-old guard had been reportedly progressing in his recovery and was cleared for basketball activities, so he should be healthy ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Ivey finished the 2024-25 season averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 29.9 minutes across 30 regular-season appearances.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Out at least another two weeks
The Pistons announced Saturday that Ivey (lower leg) has progressed in his recovery to basketball shooting and skill drills, and his status will be updated in another two weeks.
Ivey continues to progress in his recovery from a broken left fibula that has kept him sidelined since Jan. 1. However, the Pistons will likely have to advance past the Knicks in the playoffs to give Ivey a chance at suiting up before the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Cleared for basketball activities
The Pistons announced Thursday that Ivey continues to make progress in his recovery from a broken left fibula and has been cleared for basketball activities. He's scheduled to enter the beginning phase of a reconditioning progression and will have his status updated in two weeks.
Ivey hasn't played since Jan. 1 due to a broken left fibula, but getting clearance for basketball activities will leave the door open for him to play again in 2024-25 if the Pistons are able to make a deep playoff run. Before getting injured, the third-year guard averaged a career-high 17.6 points to go with 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.1 three-pointers and 0.9 steals in 29.9 minutes per game while shooting 46 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from downtown over 30 appearances.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Still out another four weeks
The Pistons announced Thursday that Ivey (lower leg) has transitioned to weight-bearing strengthening exercises, running progression activity and stationary shooting. The 24-year-old's recovery progress will be updated in another four weeks.
Ivey has been sidelined since suffering a broken left fibula on Jan. 1 and undergoing surgery. While Ivey could potentially return to action for Detroit's playoff run, his rehab process would need to proceed without any setbacks. Ausar Thompson should continue to start in his absence.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Out at least another four weeks
The Pistons announced Thursday that Ivey (lower leg) has transitioned to a walking boot and has begun light weight-bearing activity. The 22-year-old guard's progress will be updated in another four weeks as he continues to progress in the rehabilitation process.
Ivey hasn't played since Jan. 1 after undergoing surgery to repair a broken left fibula but appears to be progressing well in his recovery. While Ivey will now certainly be sidelined well past the All-Star break, there is reason for optimism that he can return to action before the end of the regular season. Ausar Thompson will likely continue to start in his absence.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Still no return timeline
Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Sunday that Ivey (lower leg) is progressing and continues to meet with doctors, but the guard doesn't have a timeline for a return to game action yet, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Ivey underwent successful surgery Jan. 2 to repair a broken left fibula and was given a four-week timeline before his next evaluation, though the guard was always expected to remain out through the All-Star break. Given Bickerstaff's most recent update, Ivey's absence appears likely to extend into March, at the very least, but there's still hope he'll be available toward the end of the season. Surprisingly, the Pistons find themselves in playoff contention this season after finishing with the worst record in the NBA in 2023-24, and a healthy Ivey could be a difference-maker in April.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Undergoes successful surgery
The Pistons announced Thursday that Ivey underwent successful surgery to repair a broken fibula in his left leg, and he will be re-evaluated in four weeks, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
While Ivey is set to be re-evaluated in four weeks, the 22-year-old guard will likely be sidelined for a longer period while recovering from a broken fibula. Until Ivey is able to return to action, Marcus Sasser, Malik Beasley, Tim Hardaway and Ausar Thompson could all see increased roles in Detroit's backcourt.
