  • Bears' DJ Moore: Looks likely to play Week 14

Moore (quadriceps), who is questionable for Sunday's matchup versus San Francisco, is expected to suit up, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Schefter's report seems to confirm Moore's own words Friday, when the receiver suggested he would be able to take the field against the 49ers. Moore last missed a game in 2020, so he's proven capable of pushing through the wears and tears of the NFL season. If Moore is indeed able to play Sunday, he'll try to build upon a pair of consecutive big performances, as he totaled 15 catches for 203 yards and two touchdowns over the past two weeks.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Optimistic he'll play

Moore (quadriceps) is optimistic he'll play against the 49ers on Sunday, after being listed as questionable on the final injury report, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

"I play through everything," Moore said Friday, suggesting he expects to play despite managing just one limited practice at the end of the week. He's missed two games in seven NFL seasons, with a concussion holding him out for the 2019 finale and then COVID keeping him out Week 14 of 2020. Moore has played through his fair share of minor injuries, but he's also had better luck than most at simply avoiding them in the first place. In any case, it sounds like his odds are better than 50/50 to avoid the inactive list ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Questionable for Week 14

Moore (quadriceps) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.

Moore logged a limited practice Friday, but it appears his quad injury has a legitimate chance of impacting his availability for Week 14. The standout receiver's status will be made official no later than 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. RB D'Andre Swift (quadriceps) also is listed as questionable for Sunday's road matchup, though on a bright note for Chicago, Keenan Allen (ankle) does not carry an injury designation after returning to practice as a full participant Thursday.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Sidelined for another practice

    Moore (quadricep) didn't practice Thursday.

While Keenan Allen (ankle) returned to practice Thursday as a full participant after sitting out Wednesday, Moore remained a spectator for the second straight day. In order to avoid taking a designation into Sunday's game at San Francisco, Moore will likely need to practice in at least a limited fashion Friday. If Moore can't shake off the quad injury ahead of Sunday's contest, Allen and fellow wideouts Rome Odunze and tight end Cole Kmet would represent the top pass-catching options for quarterback Caleb Williams.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Misses practice Wednesday

Moore did not practice Wednesday due to a quadricep injury.

Moore presumably picked up the quad injury at some point during the Bears' 23-20 loss to the Lions on Thanksgiving Day, though he didn't appear to be laboring at any point during the contest on his way to finishing with a 8-97-1 receiving line on 16 targets. Keenan Allen (ankle) was also sidelined at practice Wednesday, and while it's possible the Bears are simply taking a cautious approach with the health of their top two wideouts, both players' statuses will need to be monitored ahead of Sunday's road matchup against the 49ers. Rookie first-round pick Rome Odunze would step into an increased role on offense if either Moore or Allen are forced to miss any time.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Resurgence continues Thursday

Moore caught eight passes for 97 yards and one touchdown on 16 targets against Detroit in Thursday's 23-20 loss to the Lions.

There were some missed opportunities and overall it wasn't an efficient day for Moore on a per-target basis, but the target volume and resulting production still made it a good day for Moore's fantasy investors. That the Bears managed to lose in such memorable and embarrassing fashion might provoke further shakeups in the Chicago coaching staff, but the last two weeks have otherwise been encouraging for Moore. The Bears face San Francisco on the road in Week 14.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Perfect effort in OT loss

Moore recorded seven receptions on seven targets for 106 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-27 overtime loss to the Vikings. He added one rush for 13 yards.

Moore showed the ability to connect with Caleb Williams in all areas of the field in the loss, as he had long gains of 37 and 27 yards, the latter of which set up a game-tying field goal to send the game to overtime. He also worked effectively in the short areas of the field, including on a 10-yard touchdown reception early in the fourth quarter -- his first trip to the end zone since Week 5. While it's been a disappointing season for Moore, he has 14 receptions on 14 targets for 168 yards across two games since Chicago made a change at offensive coordinator.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Team-high catch total in loss

Moore secured all seven targets for 62 yards and rushed once for five yards in the Bears' 20-19 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Moore led the Bears in receptions while checking in second in receiving yards in Chicago's first game under interim offensive coordinator Thomas Brown. The veteran wideout's catch total was his highest since Week 3, while his yardage tally was his best over the last five games. Given Moore hadn't cleared 33 receiving yards in the last four contests under former offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, there's reason for optimism heading into a Week 12 home clash against an inconsistent Vikings secondary.
