Falcons' Matthew Judon: Disappointing 2024 campaign
Judon finished the 2024 season with 41 total tackles (25 solo), including 5.5 sacks, while also adding five passes defensed, including an interception, over 17 games.
Judon was traded to the Falcons in August after three seasons with the Patriots, ultimately appearing in all 17 contests with Atlanta. The linebacker was unable to replicate his production from his time in New England though, securing just 5.5 sacks with the Falcons after compiling 32.0 sacks over 38 games with the Patriots. However, Judon did snatch his first career interception in Week 16 versus the Giants, returning it for a touchdown. The 32-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and he'll likely have many suitors interested in signing him.

Falcons' Matthew Judon: Productive in loss
Judon recorded four total tackles (all solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday night's 30-24 overtime loss to the Commanders.
Judon has been a key contributor to Atlanta's defensive success in his first season as a Falcon, recording 39 total tackles, including 5.5 sacks, and one pick-six while appearing in all 16 of the team's regular-season games thus far. However, his sack total has decreased substantially in 2024, compared to the 15.5 and 12.5 sacks tallied in his last two full seasons in the NFL. Judon recorded one of Atlanta's four sacks of Sam Darnold during Sunday's loss. Judon has struggled so far this season, logging just 3.5 sacks in 13 games. That's less than his total from last season, where he had 4.0 sacks across just four regular-season games.

Falcons' Matthew Judon: Set for Sunday
Judon (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Judon has been dealing with a hamstring issue off and on and played through the injury in Week 5. After logging a limited session Wednesday, the Grand Valley State product was able to put in a full session Thursday, signifying he'll suit up Sunday against the Panthers.

Judon appears to have aggravated his hamstring issue during the Falcons' Week 5 win over the Buccaneers. However, the veteran edge rusher was still able to record two total tackles and one pass defended across 31 defensive snaps. Judon is expected to play in Sunday's matchup against the Panthers unless he downgrades to no participation either Thursday or Friday.
