Patriots' Matthew Judon: Reports to training camp
Judon reported to Patriots' training camp Tuesday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
The Patriots previously offered a contract to Judon, but the two sides still appear to be far apart on a new deal, per Henry McKenna of FoxSports.com. Judon is set to make $6.5 million in the final year of his contract, and he's coming off a 2023 campaign in which he missed the final 13 regular-season games due to a torn biceps. The 2016 fifth-round pick is still one of the most formidable pass rushers in the league, having registered 28.0 sacks across 2021 and 2022. For now, it appears Judon is willing to participate in training camp while negotiating a new deal.

Patriots' Matthew Judon: Not close to new deal
Judon and the Patriots are far apart in contract negotiations, Henry McKenna of FoxSports.com reports.
McKenna notes that Judon has asked for a new contract and the Patriots have presented an offer, but the sides "are not currently close to agreeing to a new deal." Judon is approaching the final year of his contract, which will pay him a modest $6.5 million in 2024. New England may be hesitant to offer the linebacker a hefty deal given that he played in just four games last season due to a torn biceps, though he has more than proven his ability as a pass rusher with 28 combined sacks between 2021 and 2022. Patriots' Matthew Judon: Present for minicamp
Judon (biceps) was in attendance for the Patriots' mandatory minicamp Monday, Hayden Bird of the Boston Globe reports.
Judon suffered a torn biceps tendon this past October, limiting him to four games last year, but he's since recovered from the injury to the point that he's in line to be a full participant in this week's minicamp, per Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston. During his last full campaign, the linebacker racked up 60 tackles and 15.5 sacks in 17 regular-season games in 2022. Now that he's back in action, Judon is set to remain a key pass-rushing presence in New England's defense, a role that lands the 31-year-old back on the IDP radar in 2024.

Patriots' Matthew Judon: Back to full health
Judon (biceps) is back to full health and expected to be at the Patriots' mandatory minicamp in June, Karen Guregian of The Springfield Republican reports.
Judon tore his biceps early in the 2023 season and subsequently underwent season-ending surgery. It appears his recovery has gone well, and he will be ready to participate in New England's offseason program. Barring any setbacks with his health, the 31-year-old -- who racked up 15.5 sacks in 2022 -- is expected to start at outside linebacker, where he'll reprise his role as a key pass rusher for the team.
