The Patriots placed Wallace (ankle) on injured reserve Friday.
Head coach Jerod Mayo told reporters earlier Friday that Wallace would be placed on injured reserve, and this move made it official. The rookie tackle will miss New England's next four contests, with his earliest possible return coming in Week 9, when the Patriots take on the Titans.

Patriots' Caedan Wallace: Set to hit IR
Head coach Jerod Mayo told reporters Friday that Wallace (ankle) will be placed on injured reserve, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Wallace hasn't officially been placed on IR yet; however, he's set to miss an extended period of time after sustaining an ankle injury during the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the 49ers. Vederian Lowe could start at left tackle Sunday after missing the Patriots' last two contests with a knee issue, but if he's unable to go as well, expect Demontrey Jacobs to protect Jacoby Brissett's blindside.

Patriots' Caedan Wallace: In walking boot
Wallace was using crutches and wearing a boot on his left foot after Sunday's 30-13 loss to the 49ers, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
The offensive tackle exited Sunday's game with an apparent ankle injury and did not return. Wallace was already replacing starting left tackle Vederian Lowe (knee). Zachary Thomas filled in for Wallace on Sunday.

Patriots' Caedan Wallace: Heads to sidelines
Wallace (ankle) has exited Sunday's game against the 49ers, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
Wallace's exit is a further blow to the Patriots' offensive line, especially at left tackle. With Chukwuma Okorafor (undisclosed) now on the exempt/left squad list and Vederian Lowe (knee) out as well, the Patriots will need to turn to Demontrey Jacobs or Zachary Thomas at left tackle.
