Gonzalez (concussion) is expected to practice Wednesday, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
The Patriots' starting cornerback suffered a concussion in the second half of last Sunday's playoff win over the Chargers. Gonzalez's ability to practice Wednesday means he is likely ready to continue progressing the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in the hopes of being set to suit up for Sunday's divisional round matchup with the Texans.

Patriots' Christian Gonzalez: In concussion protocol
Gonzalez is in the NFL's concussion protocol, head coach Mike Vrabel relayed Monday, Mark Daniels of MassLive reports.
Gonzalez exited in the second half of Sunday's 16-3 wild-card game win over the Chargers to be evaluated for a head injury. That evaluation evidently revealed a concussion, which means Gonzalez will need to return to full practice participation and be cleared by an independent neurologist to participate in the AFC divisional-round game against the Texans or Steelers on Sunday, Jan. 18. Charles Woods would likely draw the start at outside cornerback if Gonzalez doesn't exit the concussion protocol in time.

Gonzalez was evaluated for a head injury in the second half and ruled out after initially being deemed questionable to return. Gonzalez was one of four Patriots players to play every single defensive snap Thursday, and he tied two other teammates for the most solo tackles in the game.
