Here are some news and notes from around the Pac-12:

  • Since 2002, Washington State has been playing one of its home games in Seattle, something quarterback <player idref= isn't necessarily a fan of. "It's not a true home game. It's frustrating that we don't get to play the game in Martin Stadium," Halliday said in a conference call Monday. "I wish all of our home games were [in Pullman]. I don't see why we have to go some place else to play a home game."
  • The Pac-12 could have a new bowl partner soon, according to the AP. There aren't many details, but it looks as if the unnamed bowl would begin in 2014 and either the Pac-12 or the Big 12 would play the champion from one of five conferences: Big East, MAC, Sun Belt, Conference USA or Mountain West.
  • Stanford CB Terrence Brown has a 6-0 career record against USC QB Matt Barkley -- 2-0 in high school, 4-0 in college. On Thursday, Brown will look to improve his record to 6-0 against Washington QB Keith Price. Rivals.com interviewed Brown about his long history with Price.
  • If actions really do speak louder than words, that's a good thing for USC DE Morgan Breslin, the Orange County Register reported. Breslin doesn't do media interviews, but he's done a lot speaking on the field this year, leading the Trojans with 5.5 sacks.
  • Fans in Berkeley are starting to panic after Cal's 1-3 start and the players are aware of the situation, according to the Oakland Tribune. "I hear all the talk. If I was a fan, I probably would [be panicked] too," safety Josh Hillsaid. "We just ask that they stick with us. We haven't given up on ourselves, so hopefully they haven't either."
  • Not even Oregon State coach Mike Riley thought the Beavers would open the season with two wins over ranked teams. "I'd like to say I did, but it was truly a mystery to me," Riley told the Spokesman-Review.
  • How big is Arizona State's game against Cal on Saturday? Coach Todd Graham said it could determine the season for the resurgent Sun Devils, according to the Arizona Republic. Arizona State is playing in Berkeley, where they haven't won since 1997.
     
  • Don't try to compare Oregon's spread offense to Washington State's spread, at least not in front of Duck coach Chip Kelly. When Kelly was told Wednesday that Leach sees similarities in the offenses, Kelly sounded borderline offended. "I see none. I don't know what Mike's looking at," Kelly said, according to Spokesman-Review reporter Christian Caple.
  • Finally, we have Pac-12 football teams as cars, courtesy of SB Nation site Pacific Takes. USC is a Ferrari -- the car that everyone envies, while Washington is a 2012 BMW, a car that works well under regular conditions, but falls apart under tough conditions.
