Giants' Michael Conforto: Lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Giants placed Conforto on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right hamstring strain.
After Conforto left in the fourth inning of Saturday's win against the Reds, the hope was that the right hamstring strain was mild enough for the 31-year-old to be considered day-to-day. The MRI on Sunday revealed a more severe strain, and Conforto will be sidelined until at least May 22. In a corresponding move, the Giants recalled Luis Matos from Triple-A Sacremento.

Giants' Michael Conforto: Not starting Sunday
Conforto (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Reds, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Conforto left in the bottom of the fourth inning in Saturday's 5-1 win, and Giants manager Bob Melvin described the right hamstring strain as "mild," per John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. With Conforto out of the lineup Sunday, Heliot Ramos will start in left field while Patrick Bailey serves as the designated hitter.

Conforto departed Saturday's game versus the Reds due to right hamstring tightness, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Conforto singled in the bottom of the fourth inning but had to be removed for a pinch runner. The Giants could have more on his status after the game. Conforto had the single and a strikeout in two plate appearances before exiting.

Conforto has been diagnosed with a strained right hamstring, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
For what it's worth, Giants manager Bob Melvin said of the strain that "it feels mild," but more will be known after Conforto undergoes an MRI on Sunday. Luis Matos was pulled mid-game from Triple-A Sacramento's contest Saturday and would appear poised to take Conforto's roster spot if a move is needed.

Conforto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Thursday in a loss to the Rockies.
Conforto accounted for San Francisco's only run with a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning. It was his second homer in as many days following a 12-game stretch without a long ball. Conforto's power has run hot and cold this season -- he went deep three times over his first five games of the campaign, then homered just twice over his subsequent 29 contests before his current two-game long-ball streak.

Giants' Michael Conforto: Homer, three hits in win
Conforto went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Rockies.
Conforto jumped on a hanging four-seamer from Peter Lambert to lead off the second inning and crushed it over the wall in right field to open a six-run rally for San Francisco. The outfielder would later add a single in the same frame before finishing the contest with his third three-hit performance of the season. Conforto has now hit safely in four of his last five games, while the home run was his first since April 22. He's batting .269 in May with three RBI and three runs scored and has also drawn a walk in three straight contests.
