Hudson is not on the Brewers' roster for the National League Wild Card Series against the Mets, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hudson was one of the Brewers' best relievers this season, collecting a 1.73 ERA and 62:17 K:BB over 62.1 innings, but he was sent down to Triple-A Nashville in early September after his velocity dipped. The lefty allowed one run with a 10:0 K:BB across 5.2 frames at Nashville, but the team evidently still wasn't convinced he was ready to help during the first round of the playoffs.... See More ... Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Sent down to minors
The Brewers optioned Hudson to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The move looks odd on the surface, as Hudson boasts a 1.73 ERA and 62:17 K:BB over 62.1 innings this season and had turned in four straight scoreless appearances. However, his velocity has been trending in the wrong direction and the Brewers want to see him get that ticked back up in a less pressurized environment.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Activated from injured list
The Brewers activated Hudson (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Monday. Hudson wound up missing just a couple weeks of action with a strained left oblique. The left-handed reliever has been quite a find in the Brewers bullpen this season with a 1.60 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 50.2 innings. He'll return to a high-leverage role now that he's healthy again.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Scheduled for rehab assignment
Hudson (oblique) will begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hudson was placed on the 15-day injured list July 27 with a left oblique strain, though it appears the 27-year-old southpaw may only require a minimum stint on the IL. He has been an integral piece to the Brewers' bullpen this year with a 1.60 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 54:13 K:BB across 50.2 innings while also recording 12 holds in 35 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Placed on injured list
The Brewers placed Hudson on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain. Hudson has been a key piece for the Brewers this season, posting a 1.60 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 50.2 innings out of the bullpen. However, he'll be forced to miss at least two weeks with a strained oblique. Tyler Jay was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Collects third win
Hudson (3-0) picked up the win Monday against the Cubs. He pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing one hit and no walks. Hudson entered the seventh after Brewers starter Robert Gasser allowed consecutive singles to Seiya Suzuki and Cody Bellinger to begin the inning. The lefty reliever worked himself out of the jam, fanning two batters and inducing one popup. Hudson has been a stalwart in the Milwaukee bullpen, becoming manager Pat Murphy's most dependable southpaw, firing a 0.59 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB over 30.1 innings this season.... See More ... Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Earns second win
Hudson (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Pirates, allowing one hit over 1.2 scoreless innings. He struck out one. Hudson has now earned wins in his last two appearances as he continues to impress early in the year. The left-hander has allowed just one run over 13.1 innings while posting an impressive 0.60 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB. Hudson made six appearances with the Dodgers last season, working to a 7.27 ERA over 8.2 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Claims Opening Day bullpen spot
The Brewers informed Hudson on Monday that he'll be included on the Opening Day roster, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hudson has two minor-league options remaining, but he did enough in spring training to solidify his spot in the Brewers' Opening Day bullpen. After being acquired from the Dodgers in January, Hudson looked like one of Milwaukee's more dominant arms in the Cactus League, as he racked up 19 strikeouts against five walks over 12.2 innings while sporting a 3.55 ERA that was inflated by a .438 BABIP. With Devin Williams (back) likely to open the season on the 60-day injured list, the Brewers' closing situation is wide open, but Abner Uribe, Joel Payamps and Trevor Megill look to be the early frontrunners to enter the mix for saves. However, Hudson could eventually work his way into the late-inning picture if he's able to carry over his spring success to the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Designated for assignment
The Dodgers designated Hudson for assignment Wednesday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Timesreports. Hudson made six big-league appearances last season and surrendered seven earned runs with a 7:4 K:BB across 8.2 innings. The left-hander pitched much better at Triple-A Oklahoma City with a 2.43 ERA in 46 outings, and he's likely to begin 2024 with the affiliate, assuming he passes through waivers unclaimed.... Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Dispatched to Triple-A
The Dodgers optioned Hudson to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Hudson struggled with his command in a relief appearance Saturday at Boston and carries a 7.27 ERA in 8.2 major-league innings this year. Gavin Stone has been called up in a corresponding roster move to serve as the Dodgers' bulk reliever in Sunday's series finale against the Red Sox.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Returns to majors
Hudson was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Hudson has spent the past month in the minors but will rejoin the big-league club ahead of Sunday's game in San Diego. The left-hander has given up four earned runs in two major-league appearances this season and has a 2.61 ERA over 41.1 innings at Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Sent to Triple-A
Hudson was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Yency Almonte was reinstated from the paternity list, so Hudson will return to the minors. Hudson has given up four earned runs in 3.2 innings through two big-league appearances this season.... Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Joins big-league bullpen
Hudson was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. Hudson struggled in his major-league debut with the Dodgers last month but is getting another shot. He's been dominant this season with OKC, holding a 1.83 ERA and 57:15 K:BB over 34.1 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Selected from Triple-A
The Dodgers selected Hudson's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday. Hudson has been very impressive this season in Triple-A, recording a 2.17 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with a whopping 51 strikeouts through 29 innings. The 26-year-old lefty has made three starts this season in the minors and is capable of pitching multiple innings in relief.
