Athletics' Zack Gelof: Working on new batting stance
Gelof has been working on a new batting stance this spring, which appears to be paying off as he's hitting .304 (7-for-23) with a home run, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. "You're always working," Gelof said. "There was definitely a change that needed to be addressed. I'm just doing the best of my ability to address it and be a better player because of it."
After breaking out to the tune of 14 homers and 14 steals in just 69 games as a rookie, Gelof took a step back last season with a 34.4 percent strikeout rate and just a .632 OPS. Despite his success this spring, he has a concerning 12 strikeouts. His 25 stolen bases were helpful for fantasy teams last year but came with a .211 batting average. Gelof is locked in as the starting second baseman to begin the season.

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Reaches 25-steal mark
Gelof went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Mariners.
Gelof's bat has faded late in the season -- he's 6-for-40 (.150) over his last 11 games with two steals in that span. The second baseman is up to 25 steals on 28 attempts this year, offering some positives with his speed despite a difficult campaign at the plate. He's added a .211/.271/.364 slash line with 17 home runs, 49 RBI, 59 runs scored, 20 doubles and two triples over 136 contests.

He eventually scored the game-winning run on Jacob Wilson's walk-off single in the penultimate night game for the Athletics at Oakland Coliseum. The eventful night was an extension of a productive all-around month for Gelof despite some persistent contact issues, as he's generated a .278 average, .715 OPS, eight extra-base hits, seven RBI, five steals and nine runs across 84 September plate appearances.
