While Ober's winless streak is at five starts, this was his fourth quality start in that span and his fifth scoreless outing of the year. Ober gave up a solo home run to Ernie Clement on the fifth pitch he threw of the day but otherwise dominated the Blue Jays. It was a huge bounce-back performance after he allowed a season-worst nine runs in his previous start. That's now 12 quality starts in his last 13 outings for Ober, and his strikeout numbers were up Sunday after managing only 10 strikeouts over his previous 14 innings. The 29-year-old owns a 3.95 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 155:39 K:BB in 148 innings and lines up to make his next start on the road against the Royals over the weekend.

Ober (12-6) yielded nine runs on seven hits and two walks over two innings while taking a loss against Atlanta on Monday. He struck out two batters.
Ober was tagged with a three-run shot by Matt Olson in the first inning and a two-run homer by Travis d'Arnaud in the second. Entering Monday's start, Ober had given up nine total runs over his previous six outings, going 4-0 with a 2.02 ERA during that span. The last time he allowed more than six runs in a start was his season debut against the Royals on March 31. Ober saw his ERA jump from 3.54 to 4.06 after the rough outing. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is lined up to be at home against the Blue Jays.
Ober did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Padres, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out five over six innings. He did not issue a walk.
Ober surrendered an early run in the second inning but went on to retire 13 straight batters before Jake Cronenworth led off the seventh with a double. Manny Machado then abruptly ended Ober's night with a two-run homer to center to even up the game at 3-3 and ruin Ober's chances at getting the win. Ober has now posted 11 consecutive quality starts and ranks inside the top five in ERA (2.09) and WHIP (0.80) over that span. For the year, he's posted a 3.54 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 145:34 K:BB in 140 innings. He lines up for a home start against Atlanta to begin next week.

All of the damage against Ober came in the opening frame when he allowed four of the first batters to reach base, leading to two runs coming across for Texas. The right-hander then held the Rangers scoreless over the next five frames, logging his 10th consecutive quality start. Ober has surrendered just one home run over his last four outings, though he's also issued multiple walks in four straight. Thursday's no-decision also snapped a four-game winning streak for the 29-year-old.
Ober (12-5) earned the win in the first game of Friday's doubleheader with the Guardians, allowing two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out nine.
It's the ninth straight quality start for Ober, who's posted a stellar 1.76 ERA in that span (61.1 innings) while logging eight or more strikeouts in six of those outings. The 29-year-old Ober's ERA is down to 3.52 on the year with a 0.97 WHIP and 137:31 K:BB across 128 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next week at home against the Royals.
