Vaughn put the White Sox ahead 2-1 in the fourth inning with a 413-foot blast off Albert Suarez, his 16th homer of the year. Vaughn recorded his first multi-hit game since August 25 -- the first baseman had been stuck in a 1-for-25 slump across seven contests coming into Wednesday. Overall, Vaughn's slashing .237/.292/.393 on the year with 60 RBI, 50 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases across 534 plate appearances.

Vaughn is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Baltimore.
Vaughn and Gavin Sheets have been alternating starts between first base and designated hitter over the last several weeks, but Vaughn will get a day off for Monday's series opener. Sheets will start at first base, and Corey Julks is in the lineup at DH.
Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, two RBI and a walk in Sunday's loss to Detroit.
Vaughn knocked an RBI double in the first inning before ripping a solo shot in the third. He ended a 12-game homerless drought, though he did hit .311 during that power slump. After hitting just .188 in July, Vaughn has gone 23-for-72 (.319) with 10 extra-base hits in August. For the year, he owns a .246/.300/.406 slash line with 15 home runs and 57 RBI.
Vaughn has struggled for most of the season but has had a solid stretch in August. Across 15 games, he's maintained a .315 average with only a 13.3 percent strikeout rate. While he has only one home run in that span, he does have seven doubles, four RBI and nine runs scored.

Vaughn knocked RBI doubles in the third and eighth innings but it wasn't enough as the Twins' offense led the way in the 13-7 contest. It was Vaughn's first multi-hit performance since July 22 and he'd gone 6-for-35 (.171) in 10 games since. He posted a .933 OPS in June but has struggled since, producing a .648 OPS since the beginning of July. Vaughn's season slash line sits at .235/.291/.391 with 35 extra-base hits and 50 RBI through 426 plate appearances.
Vaughn (illness) will start at first base and bat cleanup in Sunday's game against the Twins.
Vaughn was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's 6-2 loss due to the ailment, but he apparently made enough progress to make his return to the starting nine for the series finale. Since the All-Star break, Vaughn is slashing just .180/.226/.320 with two home runs, five RBI and four runs in 13 games.

Vaughn was scratched from the White Sox lineup with an illness Saturday against the Twins, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Vaughn will be forced to take a seat since he's feeling under the weather, opening the door for Gavin Sheets to take over at first base versus Minnesota. Vaughn can be considered day-to-day for the timg being.

Vaughn led off the seventh inning with his 12th home run of the season and his first since July 2. He's hit only .195 with seven RBI and six runs scored across 20 games in that span. Vaughn has also seen his production fall significantly this season, highlighted by a career-low .672 OPS.
