  • Heat's Josh Christopher: Plays in garbage time Sunday

Christopher missed both of his field-goal attempts while playing the final 2:21 of Sunday's 128-107 win over the Spurs.

After logging 31 minutes for the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce in Saturday's 113-102 win over the Osceola Magic, Christopher rejoined the Heat ahead of Sunday's home matchup with San Antonio. He made his sixth appearance of the season for Miami, all of which have come in end-of-game garbage-time scenarios when the outcome was already decided.

  • Heat's Terry Rozier: Strong showing in rout

Rozier finished with 20 points (7-14 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Sunday's 128-107 win over the Spurs.

Sunday marked Rozier's first 20-point display since the Dec. 21 loss to Orlando. It's still been a disappointing 2024-25 campaign overall for the veteran guard during his first full season with the Heat, as he's bounced in and out of Miami's starting lineup all year long. Across 17 outings as a reserve, Rozier has averaged 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 threes in 25.9 minutes. It's unclear how head coach Erik Spoelstra will handle the starting shooting guard spot going forward, but Rozier has been far more efficient from the second unit than with the first five.

  • Heat's Duncan Robinson: Sinks five triples Sunday

Robinson registered 21 points (8-12 FG, 5-7 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists over 28 minutes during Sunday's 128-107 win over San Antonio.

Making his 21st start of the season, Robinson submitted his first game with at least 20 points since a Dec. 8 win over Cleveland to surprisingly lead a healthy Heat starting lineup Sunday. Head coach Erik Spoelstra appears to be mixing and matching his starting shooting guards between Robinson and Terry Rozier on a regular basis, and Robinson has been serviceable when called upon to handle the role. The veteran sharpshooter has averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.6 threes in 25.5 minutes while shooting 39.9 percent from long range as a member of Miami's first unit.

  • Heat's Kel'el Ware: Standout performance off bench

Ware amassed 25 points (10-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 34 minutes during Sunday's 128-107 victory over the Spurs.

It was a standout performance off Miami's bench by Ware, who ended up exceeding Bam Adebayo's minutes total while matching his season high with 25 points to lead the team in Sunday's rout. Ware has made a serious case for more playing time with the Heat since the calendar flipped to January, as he's averaging 12.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.0 threes while shooting 45.8 percent from three-point land in 20.6 minutes over his last 11 games. The rookie first-rounder's fantasy upside will remain capped while Adebayo is healthy, but Ware is flashing a unique skill set when it comes to providing treys and swats alongside a high field-goal percentage.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Imaging comes back clean

The Heat announced Saturday that a recent MRI on Richardson's heel didn't reveal any significant damage, and the team he hopes he can begin ramping up toward a return this upcoming week, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Richardson hasn't played since Nov. 18 due to right heel inflammation. However, the results of his recent imaging offers some encouragement that he might be back in action in the near future. The veteran guard isn't expected to be included in the Heat rotation once he's fully healthy.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Remains out Sunday

Richardson (heel) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Spurs, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Sunday's absence will mark the 28th straight game that Richardson has missed for the Heat. The 31-year-old could return as early as Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers, but his status remains uncertain moving forward.

  • Heat's Bam Adebayo: Double-double in clash with Jokic

Adebayo ended Friday's 133-113 loss to Denver with 16 points (7-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes.

it was the 21st double-double of the season for Adebayo in 39 appearances, giving the veteran center a shot at topping the career-high 42 he recorded in 2023-24. He has yet to deliver a double-double in consecutive January games, however, averaging 15.3 points, 8.8 boards, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals through nine contests on the month.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Drops team-high 22

Herro amassed 22 points (10-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt), five rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes during Friday's 133-113 loss to the Nuggets.

The 24-year-old guard produced his fifth straight game with 20-plus points and sank multiple threes in the seventh straight, and it's encouraging that Herro didn't see a significant drop in usage with Jimmy Butler back in the lineup. Through 10 games in January, Herro is averaging 24.7 points, 5.5 boards, 4.4 assists and 4.0 threes, and he figures to be the Heat's top outside scoring threat once a trade partner for Butler is finally found.

  • Heat's Jimmy Butler: Returns with 18 points

Butler (suspension) finished Friday's 133-113 loss to the Nuggets with 18 points (7-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 33 minutes.

Seeing his first action since Jan. 2 following the completion of his team-imposed seven-game suspension, Butler looked a little rusty but still provided a decent showcase for prospective trade partners. The 35-year-old has made it apparent that he prefers to be moved out of Miami, but it's unclear if the organization has any intention of acquiescing to his demands prior to the Feb. 6 trade deadline. Until then, Butler looks like he'll but any discord with the franchise aside and continue playing his normal minutes in the starting five.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Returning to bench role

Jaquez won't start Friday against the Nuggets, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Jaquez was excellent in a starting role during Jimmy Butler's seven-game suspension, averaging 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game while starting in all but one of those contests. However, Butler will return to the starting lineup against Denver, so Jaquez will return to his regular bench role. Therefore, the second-year forward out of UCLA should experience some regression in his numbers.

  • Heat's Terry Rozier: Heading to bench Friday

Rozier isn't starting in Friday's game against the Nuggets, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

After starting in Miami's previous seven games, Rozier will cede his spot in the first unit to sharpshooter Duncan Robinson on Friday. Over his last six games, Rozier is averaging 10.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 threes in 30.5 minutes, but the veteran guard's minutes could take a slight dip against Denver.

  • Heat's Duncan Robinson: Enters starting lineup

Robinson will start Friday's game against the Nuggets, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

With Jimmy Butler returning from his suspension, Robinson will start alongside him, which will push Terry Rozier and Jaime Jaquez to the second unit. In 19 starts this season, Robinson holds averages of 11.9 points, 3.1 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 three-pointers.

  • Heat's Jimmy Butler: Set to return against Denver

Butler will return to the lineup Friday against the Nuggets, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.

After serving a seven-game suspension imposed by the team, Butler will return to the basketball floor against Denver. The 35-year-old veteran has made it abundantly clear that he wants to be traded, but Miami is seemingly finding it difficult to move him, resulting in this awkward situation. There's no telling how much time Butler will be on the floor Friday.
