It sounds like the Bengals have given up on another one of their first-round draft picks. As the Newark Star Ledger reports, Cincinnati will send Keith Rivers, selected with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2008 draft, to the Giants. According to the NY Daily News, the Giants will send their fifth-round pick (No. 32) in exchange for Rivers.

The deal isn’t official yet, but according to the Star Ledger's source, “It’s going to happen.”

Rivers has been a disappointment, mostly because he simply can’t stay healthy. He missed all of last season because of a wrist injury, and from 2008-10, he sat out a total of 13 contests. Or you can put it this way:

Rivers joins a group of disappointing Bengals first-round picks since 1999 that include Akili Smith, Andre Smith, David Pollack, Chris Perry and Peter Warrick.
