Barkevious Mingo: Contract terminated
The Falcons released Mingo on Saturday, ESPN.com reports.
Atlanta cut the 30-year-old Mingo loose just hours after learning about his arrest Thursday in Arlington, Texas on a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child-sexual contact. Mingo was released Friday from Tarrant County Jail on $25,000 bond, but after gathering more information about the allegations involving the veteran edge rusher, Atlanta elected to terminate his one-year deal. Mingo, a 2013 first-round pick of the Browns, spent the past season with the Bears and recorded 35 tackles and 2.5 sacks across 16 games.

Falcons' Barkevious Mingo: Arrested on felony charge
Mingo was arrested Thursday in Arlington, Texas on a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child, sexual contact, ESPN.com reports. "Our organization became aware of the allegations involving Barkevious Mingo today and are currently gathering information on this incident," the Falcons said in a statement Saturday. "The Falcons take the allegations very seriously and will continue to monitor the situation."
According to the report, the felony charge relates to engaging in sexual contact with someone younger than 17 years of age or causing the child to engage in sexual contact, and carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years. Mingo, who was released from Tarrant County on Friday on $25,000 bond, signed a one-year contract with the Falcons in March and was expected to compete for a reserve role at edge rusher. HIs arrest puts his status for the upcoming season in question.

Falcons' Barkevious Mingo: Lands with Atlanta
Mingo agreed Tuesday with the Falcons on a one-year deal, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Mingo hasn't lived up to his draft slot (sixth overall in 2013), but he has made 126 regular-season appearances in the NFL, recording 255 tackles and 12.5 sacks while playing at least one full season for six different teams. He logged 390 defensive snaps and 374 special-teams snaps for the Bears last season, finishing with 35 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 16 games. A move to Atlanta could lead to a few more defensive snaps, but the 30-year-old Mingo still figures to line up with the backups at the start of camp.

Bears' Barkevious Mingo: Ends 2020 with 35 tackles
Mingo recorded one tackle in Chicago's 35-16 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Mingo was a rotational player, who ended up recording 35 tackles and 2.5 sacks, and, although he was a solid player on the Bears defense, his lack of consistent production made him a marginal IDP option. He'll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Bears' Barkevious Mingo: Will suit up Monday night
Mingo (shoulder) is active heading into Monday's matchup against the VIkings.
Mingo was held to limited participation in practice throughout the week because of a shoulder issue, but he ultimately showed enough in pre-game workouts to get the nod for a crucial divisional clash. The 2013 No. 6 overall draft choice has appeared in all nine games for the Bears this season, starting three times while fielding an average of 26.4 defensive snaps per contest. Mingo's 12 defensive snaps last Sunday against the Titans marked a season low.

Bears' Barkevious Mingo: Tagged as questionable
Mingo (shoulder) is considered questionable for Monday's game versus the Vikings.
After a trio of limited practices this week, Mingo's status for Week 10 is still in question. The veteran linebacker has played at least 20 defensive snaps in eight of nine games this year. James Vaughters and rookie Trevis Gipson could handle those reps if Mingo is unavailable.

Bears' Barkevious Mingo: Records a sack
Mingo notched a sack and two tackles in the Bears' 17-13 victory over the Giants on Sunday.
With Robert Quinn back in the lineup, Mingo will serve as a rotational pass rusher, making him a low-floor option in IDP leagues.
