Top Panthers News

  • Panthers' Christian Rozeboom: Dealing with hamstring injury

Rozeboom suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's overtime win over the Falcons and is uncertain for next Monday night's game against the 49ers, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Rozeboom played his normal allotment of snaps against Atlanta, logging 10 tackles (two solo) on 82 percent of the defensive plays against the Falcons. If Rozeboom is unable to play Monday night, Claudin Cherelus and Bam Martin-Scott would be candidates to see increased action at linebacker for Carolina.

  • Panthers' Xavier Legette: Expects to play through hip issue

Legette (hip) said that he anticipates being available for Monday's game against the 49ers, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Before injuring his hip late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons and not returning, Legette delivered one of his best performances of the season, finishing the afternoon with four catches for 83 yards and a touchdown on eight targets. Though Legette acknowledged Tuesday that he's still banged up two days after the game, he's optimistic that he'll make enough progress throughout Week 12 prep to suit up in San Francisco. The longer turnaround between games will buy Legette an extra day to heal up before the Panthers resume practicing Thursday.

  • Panthers' Claudin Cherelus: Impresses in starting role

Cherelus tallied 10 total tackles (two solo) and one pass defended in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons.

With Trevin Wallace (shoulder) sidelined for the Week 11 win, Cherelus started in the Panthers' linebacker corps and made the most of his opportunity. He tied Christian Rozeboom for the second-most tackles on Carolina's defense, trailing Tre'von Moehrig's 11-stop performance. Wallace is currently labeled as week-to-week, so there's a chance Cherelus remains one of the Panthers' starting inside linebackers in the Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

  • Panthers' Christian Rozeboom: Continues producing in Week 11

Rozeboom recorded 10 total tackles (two solo) in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons.

Rozeboom tied Claudin Cherelus as Carolina's second-leading tackler and following Sunday's overtime win, he's now recorded double-digit stops in three of his last four games. The first-year Panther has tallied a team-leading 91 total tackles, one pass defended and one forced fumble over 11 appearances. He's expected to remain Carolina's top tackler and a viable IDP option in the Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

  • Panthers' Tre'von Moehrig: Double-digit stops in win

Moehrig recorded 11 total tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons.

The first-year Panther led Carolina's defense in total tackles and notched his second double-digit stop performance of the season in Week 11. Moehrig has appeared in all 11 of the Panthers' games this season, recording 73 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and two passes defended, with one interception. He's expected to remain one of the defense's top playmakers in the Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

  • Panthers' Ja'Tavion Sanders: Another solid outing Sunday

Sanders caught all four of his targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons.

The second-year pro from Texas (37 snaps) logged fewer offensive snaps than Tommy Tremble (42 snaps) but still paced the Panthers' tight-end room in targets and receptions. Sanders has caught all nine of his targets for 54 yards over Carolina's last two games, establishing himself as the team's top receiving option at TE. He's expected to remain one of Bryce Young's favorite targets and could be a viable streaming option in the Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

  • Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Huge catch in OT win

Tremble caught one of two targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons.

Tremble made a major impact during overtime, catching a short pass from Bryce Young and turning it into a 54-yard gain to set up the game-winning field goal. He was one of five Panthers to top 50 receiving yards in Sunday's win and has now tallied 19 receptions for 184 yards and one touchdown across 11 contests. Although he led the Panthers' tight-end corps with 42 offensive snaps played, Ja'Tavion Sanders (4-22-0) remains the team's top receiving option at tight end. Expect Tremble to continue contributing primarily as a blocker in the Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

  • Panthers' Mitchell Evans: Logs 28 yards vs. Falcons

Evans caught both of his targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons.

Prior to the Week 11 win, Evans hadn't recorded a catch since the Week 7 win over the Jets, drawing just one target during that stretch. He logged 29 offensive snaps during Sunday's win but still operated as the Panthers' No. 3 tight end, playing behind Tommy Tremble (42 snaps) and Ja'Tavion Sanders (37 snaps). Evans is likely to remain in a limited offensive role for the Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

  • Panthers' Trevor Etienne: Gets one carry in Week 11

Etienne played just four of the Panthers' 75 offensive snaps and rushed once for two yards in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win over the Falcons.

The rookie from Georgia has now played just 10 offensive snaps across Carolina's last four games, affirming his position as the team's No. 3 running back behind Rico Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard. Although Etienne has played a minor offensive role, he's contributed on special teams, recording 544 total return yards through the Panthers' first 11 contests. He's expected to remain Carolina's top return specialist in the Week 12 matchup against the 49ers.

  • Panthers' Ryan Fitzgerald: Walks off Atlanta in overtime

Fitzgerald went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and made his only extra-point try in Sunday's 30-27 overtime win against the Falcons.

Fitzgerald made a 29-yard field goal in the second quarter before later adding another make from 34 yards in the third. The kicker was then able to deliver the team a victory by nailing a 28-yard field goal in overtime. Fitzgerald has now gone 17-for-20 on field-goal tries, including 2-for-3 from 50-plus yards, while making 16 of 19 PATs over 11 games so far in his rookie campaign.
