  • Lions' Allen Robinson: Increased role expected

Head coach Dan Campbell stated Wednesday that Robinson will take on a heavy load against the Titans on Sunday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Robinson was signed to the Lions' active roster Sept. 26, but he has only appeared in two games, seeing limited snaps and a single target. However, with Jameson Williams expected to be serving the first of a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing substances, there will be plenty of snaps up for grabs at wide receiver.

  • Lions' Allen Robinson: Signed to active roster

The Lions signed Robinson off their practice squad Thursday.

Robinson becomes the second Lions receiver this week to get a promotion from the practice squad, after Tim Patrick signed with Detroit on Tuesday. Both wideouts were elevated from the practice squad ahead of last week's win over the Cardinals, but Patrick (34 offensive snaps) saw significantly more playing time than Robinson (one snap). Expect Patrick to continue serving as the preferred No. 3 wideout behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, while Robinson contends with the likes of Kalif Raymond and Isaiah Williams (abdomen) for any reps that linger at receiver.

  • Allen Robinson: Goes back to practice squad

Robinson reverted to Detroit's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Robinson saw just one snap during Sunday's 20-13 win at Arizona and did not record any stats. As long as Detroit continues to lean on its running game and Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams remain available, it's difficult to imagine any other Lions wideout having any fantasy relevance.

  • Lions' Allen Robinson: Gets elevated from practice squad

The Lions elevated Robinson from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

Robinson wasn't able to secure a spot on the Lions' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but the 2014 second-round pick opted to stick around on Detroit's practice squad. He played 17 regular-season games for the Steelers in 2023 and finished with 34 catches (on 49 targets) for 280 yards.

  • Allen Robinson: Signs with Detroit's practice squad

Robinson signed with Detroit's practice squad Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Robinson's best days are behind him, as the three-time 1,000-yard receiver had just 1,029 receiving yards combined over the last three regular seasons between the Bears, Rams and Steelers, then failed to secure a roster spot on cut-down day with the Giants. Nonetheless, the 31-year-old Robinson has a chance to eventually move up to the active roster for a Lions team that's currently carrying only four healthy wide receivers.

  • Allen Robinson: Can't secure roster spot

The Giants are releasing Robinson on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Robinson finds himself among New York's initial cuts as the team trims down to a 53-man roster. The veteran wideout signed with the Giants back in May, but it appears he couldn't show enough in training camp and the preseason to cement a depth role for himself. Robinson will be free to search for a reserve gig elsewhere in the league, and he could also be a candidate to resurface on the team's practice squad.

  • Giants' Allen Robinson: On roster bubble

Robinson recorded one reception on one target for four yards in Saturday's preseason 10-6 loss to the Jets.

Robinson's stat line doesn't have much meaning, but the fact that he suited up was not a positive sign of his status on the Giants' roster. The team sat its top four receivers -- all of whom are certain to make the roster -- leaving Robinson and Isaiah Hodgins to start the game. However, with special teams contributors such as Miles Boykin and Isaiah McKenzie (knee/foot) also vying for roster spots, Robinson could be on the wrong side of the bubble.
