Top Bears News

  • Bears' Keenan Allen: Held to 30 yards Sunday

Allen (ankle) brought in three of five of targets for 30 receiving yards in Sunday's 38-13 loss to the 49ers.

Allen overcame a minor ankle injury during the practice week in order to suit up for Sunday's eventual loss. The seasoned veteran posted vanilla numbers on the heels of his two most-productive games. Allen has underwhelmed in Chicago outside of the two aforementioned performances, averaging just 3.7 receptions and 34.7 yards in nine other games this season. Perhaps the 32-year-old has finally lost a step in his 12th year, or his down numbers could simply be the result of the Bears' overall ineptitude on offense. Whatever the case, Allen checks in as a middling fantasy option ahead of next Monday's road tilt against the Vikings.

  • Bears' DJ Moore: Leading receiver on six receptions

Moore (quadriceps) finished with six receptions on eight targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 38-13 loss to San Francisco.

Moore overcame a quadriceps injury to suit up Sunday and led the Bears in all receiving categories except scoring. That honor went to rookie wideout Rome Odunze, who cashed in both of Caleb Williams' late touchdown strikes in the lopsided loss. Moore's production paled in comparison to his previous two contests in which he racked up 15 receptions for 203 yards and two scores. The durable receiver should remain a focal point of Chicago's passing attack when the team visits Minnesota next Monday.

  • Bears' Darrynton Evans: Limited role in defeat

Evans had three rushes for three yards in the Bears' 38-13 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Evans was activated to the active roster with Roschon Johnson (concussion) sitting this game out. Despite functioning as the No. 3 running back, Travis Homer suffered a head injury, resulting in Evans seeing more action than anticipated. If Chicago continues to deal with running back injuries, Evans could be elevated from the practice squad during the fantasy playoffs.

  • Bears' T.J. Edwards: Leads team in stops

Edwards recorded 10 tackles and 1.0 sacks in the Bears' 38-13 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Edwards reached double digits in tackles for the third time this season while also posting his second sack of the campaign. With at least six tackles in all but one game this season, the linebacker remains a solid-floor IDP option with occasional upside.

  • Bears' Jonathan Owens: Picks off first pass of season

Owens tallied seven stops and an interception in the Bears' 38-13 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Owens has now recorded seven or eight tackles in each of the three games in which the veteran has taken over for the injured Elijah Hicks (ankle). As long as Owens is needed in the starting lineup, he'll remain a plug-and-play IDP option.

  • Bears' Cairo Santos: One point in defeat

Santos did not attempt a field goal in the Bears' 38-13 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Santos attempted one extra point in the blowout loss. There have only been two occasions all season in which the kicker has scored seven points, making him a low-upside fantasy option.

  • Bears' D'Andre Swift: Struggles continue in blowout loss

Swift (quadriceps) took 14 carries for 38 yards and caught one of two targets for two receiving yards in Sunday's 38-13 loss to San Francisco.

Swift dealt with a quadriceps injury during the practice week before ultimately being cleared for action Sunday. The 25-year-old dominated the backfield touches, but his 15 combined touches resulted in just 40 total yards. Swift has averaged well under four yards per carry in five of his last six contests with only one trip to the end zone over that span. Things won't get any easier for the Bears' offense as they prepare for a road tilt against Minnesota next Monday.

  • Bears' Rome Odunze: First multi-score game of career

Odunze caught four of five targets for 42 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 38-13 loss to the 49ers.

Odunze cashed in a pair of garbage-time touchdowns in Sunday's blowout loss for the first multi-score game of his young career. When the rookie scored during the contest shouldn't matter to fantasy managers, who had witnessed just one trip to the end zone over the wideout's previous 12 contests. Odunze's inconsistency in Chicago's flailing offense keeps him from relevance in shallower formats ahead of next Monday's tilt against Minnesota.

  • Bears' Caleb Williams: Pads stats late in blowout loss

Williams completed 17 of 23 pass attempts for 134 yards and two touchdowns while rushing four times for 27 yards with a fumble in Sunday's 38-13 defeat to San Francisco.

Williams and Chicago's offense were nearly invisible Sunday, netting just four yards over five drives (all of which ended in a punt) in the first half. The first-overall pick from this year's draft was able to pad his stats out of the break with a pair of touchdown throws that never threatened the 49ers' lead. On the bright side, Williams has now thrown seven touchdowns over his last three contests after failing to generate one over his previous four appearances. Things won't get any easier for the Bears as they prepare to visit the Vikings next Monday.

  • Bears' Travis Homer: Exits game due to head injury

Homer (head) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the 49ers, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Homer suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game, and up to that point he had caught all three of his targets for 11 yards. He entered the game as the Bears' No. 2 running back behind D'Andre Swift due to Roschon Johnson (concussion) being inactive. While Homer is sidelined, Darrynton Evans will have the opportunity to serve as the backup running back behind Swift.
