  • Titans' Ryan Stonehouse: Healthy again

Stonehouse (knee) is seemingly healthy once again, Mike Moraitis of the Titans' official site reports.

Stonehouse was back on the field for the start of training camp Wednesday after recovering from a knee injury suffered last December.

  • Titans' T'Vondre Sweat: Participating at training camp

Sweat (undisclosed) is practicing at the start of Titans training camp, Dan Benton of USA Today reports.

Sweat's absence earlier in the offseason at OTAs was for undisclosed reasons, and the second-round rookie wasn't offering up any details when asked Wednesday. Sweat is expected to key the interior of the Titans' defensive line that will also be headlined by projected starters Jeffery Simmons and Sebastian Joseph-Day.

  • Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Healthy for start of camp

Simmons (knee) is participating in practice at Titans camp this week, Nick Suss of The Tennesseean reports.

Simmons went on injured reserve late last season with his knee issue and didn't take part in minicamp. The Titans were likely just being cautious with their star defender. Simmons is good to go for the start of training camp after missing five games last year. Turning 27 years old Sunday, Simmons has 26.5 career sacks across five campaigns.

  • Titans' Shane Ray: Signs with Titans

The Titans agreed to terms with Ray (hamstring) on Thursday, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.

Ray was been dealing with a hamstring issue as of last summer, but it seems that he's finally moved past the injury. The 2015 first-round pick's most recent in-game action came back in 2018 with the Broncos, so he's likely a longshot to make Tennessee's 53-man roster.

  • Titans' Chidobe Awuzie: Dealing with calf injury

Awuzie is expected to miss some time with a calf injury, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.

Signed to a three-year, $36 million deal by Tennessee during the offseason, Awuzie is expected to serve as the starter opposite fellow newcomer L'Jarius Sneed. The 29-year-old Awuzie is coming off a 2023 season with the Bengals that saw him record 57 tackles (43 solo) and six pass breakups. He hasn't picked off a pass since 2021 and hasn't played a full season since 2019 in Dallas.

  • Titans' Nicholas Petit-Frere: Placed on PUP list

Petit-Frere (shoulder/knee) was placed on the active/PUP list by the Titans on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official website reports.

Petit-Frere missed the final two months of the 2023 regular season while nursing a shoulder injury, which head coach Brian Callahan said Tuesday has healed completely. That being said, Callahan explained that the offensive lineman will begin training camp on the sidelines for a couple days as he works his way back from a knee "clean-up" procedure. The Titans will officially kick off their training camp Wednesday.

  • Titans' Colton Dowell: Opens camp on PUP

The Titans placed Dowell (knee) on the active/PUP list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Dowell was placed on the Titans' injured reserve list in January after rupturing the ACL and meniscus in his right knee in Week 17, so it's no surprise that he will begin training camp on the PUP list. The 2023 seventh-round pick out of UT Martin played in 10 regular-season games in his rookie season, registering one catch for three yards as well as three tackles across 139 special teams snaps.

  • Titans' Mason Rudolph: Competing for No. 2 job

Rudolph has split reps evenly with Malik Willis to kick off training camp and will be given a chance to win the No. 2 QB job, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Will Levis beat out Malik Willis for the starting role under center in Tennessee last season, and now Rudolph is slated to compete with the latter for a backup role. The 29-year-old spent his first four seasons in Pittsburgh and ended up throwing for 719 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions across four games in 2023. He even finished the regular season with three consecutive wins. His competition, Willis, is entering his third year with the Titans after being selected in the third-round in 2022.

  • Titans' Tony Pollard: Interchangeable with Spears

Titans coach Brian Callahan said Tuesday he doesn't view either Pollard or Tyjae Spears as the clear-cut starter in the backfield, Jim Wyatt of the team's official website reports.

"The fun part for me is, how are we going to deploy those guys?," Callahan said. "Maybe they both play at the same time, maybe one gets hot and you let him run, maybe we just rotate back and forth. I don't know what that's going to look like yet. But they are both going to play quite a bit of football for us, and I don't view either one of them as a starter or a backup. They are both starting players to me." This sounds like typical coach speak, and Pollard was handpicked by this coaching staff when he was inked to a three-year, $21.75 million deal on the first day of free agency. Callahan also treated Joe Mixon like a workhorse during his time with the Bengals, and Pollard has a three-down skill set. He is coming off an inefficient 2023 season in Dallas, but he's more than a full year removed from a broken fibula and is still just 27 years old with only one season of more than 250 touches on his resume. For fantasy purposes, Pollard should still be viewed as the top back in Tennessee, with Spears handling the same change-of-pace role he had behind Derrick Henry in 2023.
