Buccaneers' Jordan Whitehead: Strong showing in big win
Whitehead recorded seven tackles (six solo) in the Buccaneers' 51-27 win over the Saints on Sunday.
Whitehead had exited the Week 5 loss to the Falcons with a groin injury that also led to limited participation to start Week 6 prep. However, there was nary a trace of the issue in Sunday's big win, with Whitehead logging a 99.0 percent snap share (69 snaps) and finishing second in tackles to Lavonte David. Whitehead has at least six stops in all but one game this season, and the contest he fell short in was the aforementioned injury-shortened one versus Atlanta. The veteran safety remains a reliable IDP option, with his 43 total tackles putting him comfortably on pace to eclipse the career-high 97 he recorded with the Jets in 2023.

Buccaneers' Jordan Whitehead: Active in Week 6
Whitehead (groin) is active for Sunday's game in New Orleans, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
After making an exit in the second half of a Week 5 loss to the Falcons on Thursday Night Football, Whitehead opened Week 6 prep with back-to-back limited practices, but he returned to full participation Friday and went into the weekend listed as questionable. With 10 days between games to get healthy, he'll be out there Sunday in his typical role as the Bucs' starting strong safety, welcoming back free safety Antoine Winfield (foot) for the first time since Week 1. Whitehead has been productive with 36 tackles (24 solo) and three pass defenses through five outings this season.

Whitehead, who signed with the Buccaneers this offseason after spending the last two seasons with the Jets, is already working seamlessly with fellow safety Antoine Winfield in training camp, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Whitehead spent the first four seasons of his career with the Buccaneers before departing for his two-year sojourn in the Big Apple. The veteran safety is coming off a 2023 campaign where he picked off a career-high four passes, and head coach Todd Bowles notes Whitehead returned with improved footwork, deep coverage ability and football IQ. Whitehead is also now reunited with Winfield, who he played alongside during the latter's first two seasons, and the duo has had no trouble reestablishing chemistry. "They're both playing off each other, talking to each other, figuring out what they want to do disguise-wise," safeties coach Nick Rapone said. "Yeah, it's exactly what we thought it would be."
