The Chiefs placed Omenihu (knee) on the active/PUP list Wednesday.

Omenihu (knee) underwent successful surgery Tuesday to repair his torn ACL, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Omenihu suffered the ACL tear in the Chiefs' AFC Championship Game win over the Ravens. He'll face a lengthy recovery from surgery, leaving his Week 1 status in doubt for the time being. Before sustaining the knee injury, Omenihu was a key rotational edge rusher for Kansas City, tallying 31 tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles and two passes defensed over 14 regular-season and playoff games.

The Chiefs placed Omenihu (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Omenihu will move off the 53-man roster after he underwent surgery Tuesday to repair his torn ACL. With Omenihu out for Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the 49ers, Felix Anudike-Uzomah should see increased playing time as the first edge rusher off the bench for the Chiefs.

Omenihu is set to undergo surgery to repair his torn ACL on Tuesday, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Omenihu tore his ACL during Kansas City's AFC Championship Game win over the Ravens two weeks ago and will now get surgery to repair it. The 2019 fifth-round pick will shift his focus to getting ready for next season, while Felix Anudike-Uzomah should see increased playing time in the Super Bowl in Omenihu's absence.

Chiefs' Charles Omenihu: Suffers torn ACL
Omenihu sustained a torn ACL during Sunday's win at Baltimore in the AFC Championship Game, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.
Omenihu was forced out of Sunday's contest during the second quarter, and while there was some optimism from the Chiefs ahead of his MRI on Monday, the defensive end's injury was unfortunately a severe one. Rookie first-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah should see an expanded role at defensive end in the Chiefs' Super Bowl matchup with the 49ers in the absence of Omenihu. The 26-year-old excelled as a rotational pass rusher while appearing in 14 total games in 2023 between the regular season and playoffs, logging 31 tackles, eight sacks and three forced fumbles.
