Dobes is expected to start on the road in Thursday's preseason game against Toronto, per Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun.
Dobes had a 2.93 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 51 contests with AHL Laval in 2023-24. Although he's getting into preseason action with the Canadiens, the 23-year-old is expected to spend most, if not all, of the upcoming campaign in the minors.
