Maple Leafs' Nicholas Robertson: Returning Wednesday
Robertson (upper body) will be in the lineup versus the Canadiens on Wednesday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Robertson missed the Maple Leafs' last preseason game, but that will be the extent of his absence. He's set to begin 2024-25 on the third line and second power-play unit. Robertson reportedly has a trade request in with Toronto's front office, but he'll look to enhance his value after a 27-point effort in 56 regular-season games last season.

Maple Leafs' Nicholas Robertson: Out of action Saturday
Robertson (upper body) will not play Saturday versus Detroit.
The good news is that Robertson partook in morning practice and could be ready to go Opening Night in Montreal on Wednesday. Robertson had 14 goals and 27 points in 56 regular-season games in 2023-24 and is expected to improve upon those numbers this season.

Maple Leafs' Nicholas Robertson: Dealing with upper-body injury
Robertson is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, David Alter of The Hockey News reports Friday.
Robertson was absent from practice Friday after potting both of Toronto's goals the night before in a 2-0 preseason win over Detroit, and he's dealing with an upper-body issue ahead of Saturday's preseason finale rematch against the Red Wings. It's not yet clear whether his injury will impact his availability for Opening Night against Montreal on Wednesday. When he's healthy, the 23-year-old will likely take on a bottom-six role for the Maple Leafs.

Maple Leafs' Nicholas Robertson: Pens one-year deal
Robertson agreed to terms on a one-year, $875,000 contract with Toronto on Tuesday.
Robertson had reportedly submitted a trade request as a restricted free agent this offseason, but it seems the two sides have come to an agreement on a short-term deal. It's still possible the Leafs will move the 22-year-old winger before the start of the season or perhaps ahead of the trade deadline. For now, the California native figures to slot into a bottom-six role but could challenge for more opportunities as the season goes along.

Maple Leafs' Nick Robertson: Four points in last four games
Robertson scored his 13th goal of the season Tuesday in a 5-2 win over the Devils.
He's been especially effective of late, putting up three goals and an assist in his last four games (six shots). Robertson has 13 goals and 25 points in 52 contests in 2023-24, which would prorate to 20 goals and 39 points over a full campaign. This is the first season that Robertson has gotten an opportunity to skate more regular shifts in the NHL, and his growth pattern continues to track upward. He may not be a star, but he does have the talent to deliver sturdy production from the middle six.

Maple Leafs' Nick Robertson: Reassigned to AHL
Robertson was sent to AHL Toronto on Saturday.
Robertson has eight goals and 19 points in 41 contests with the Maple Leafs this season while averaging 11:22 of ice time. His reassignment made room for Calle Jarnkrok's (hand) activation from long-term injured reserve. Teams can exceed the 23-man roster limit after the March 8 trade deadline, provided they remain compliant with the salary cap, which will give the Maple Leafs more roster flexibility past that point.

Robertson logged an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Golden Knights.
Robertson has a helper in each of the last two games and four points over his last four outings. Maple Leafs' Nick Robertson: Reaches 10-assist mark
Robertson logged an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Coyotes.
Robertson has been solid with four points over eight games in February. It's been enough to keep him in the lineup regularly as a middle-six winger. The 22-year-old has 18 points, 58 shots on net, 24 hits and a plus-1 rating through 37 outings overall. Robertson's production mostly comes from scoring, and he's got enough of that to help fantasy managers in deep formats.

Robertson scored a goal, added two hits and went plus-2 in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes.

Maple Leafs' Nick Robertson: Gets power-play helper
Robertson delivered an assist Thursday in a 6-5 overtime loss to Columbus.
It came on the power play. Robertson has eight points (three goals, five assists) in 16 games this season while toiling on the third line. All things considered, his production has been solid, even if his mesh with line mates hasn't. Robertson has top-six talent, but we don't know if that will manifest itself with the Leafs. His fantasy value will go up if and when he climbs onto a scoring line permanently.

Robertson was loaned to AHL Toronto on Monday.
Robertson drew into 15 games with the Maple Leafs before underoing shoulder surgery last season, picking up two goals and five points while averaging 10:53 of ice time over that span. Although he'll start the season in the AHL, Robertson should remain atop the list of potential call-ups for the big club throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

Maple Leafs' Nick Robertson: Active for training camp
Robertson (shoulder) skated with the Maple Leafs' second group Thursday to begin training camp, David Alter of Sports Illustrated reports.
Robertson was given a six-month timeline to return after undergoing shoulder surgery in January, so it's not a surprise to see him back in action. It doesn't appear he'll have any limitations, so the 22-year-old winger will have a chance to win a job in camp. Unfortunately for Robertson, the Maple Leafs boast one of the deepest forward groups in the league, so he'll likely start 2023-24 with AHL Toronto unless he puts forth a really impressive performance in camp. His main competition for playing time will likely be Noah Gregor.

Robertson's timetable rules him out for the rest of the regular season, and it suggests that he won't be an option during the playoffs either, even if the Leafs go on a deep run. He has two goals and five points in 15 contests while averaging 10:53 of ice time this season. The 21-year-old was last in the lineup Dec. 8.
