  • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Pots another in loss

Panarin scored a goal on three shots during Sunday's 4-2 loss to Columbus.

Panarin continues to be one of the NHL's most productive forwards this season, with 33 goals and 79 points. He's been remarkably consistent all year, having been held without a point in back-to-back games only once. Since going three games without a point from Nov. 20-24, Panarin has marked the scoresheet in all but nine subsequent games.

  • Rangers' Adam Edstrom: Scores second career goal

Edstrom scored a goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.

It's just the second goal in Edstrom's eight-game career. The huge forward is endearing himself to Rangers fans, but his value is capped by limited playing time. He's played more than 10 minutes only once and has failed to register even a single shot in six of his eight NHL appearances.

  • Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Win streak snapped

Quick allowed four goals on 41 Columbus shots during Sunday's 4-2 loss.

Quick has been huge for the Rangers in his 21 games, as Sunday's loss snapped a four-start win streak and dropped his record to 13-5-2 with a 2.45 GAA and .916 save percentage. However, the veteran backup's starts are coming inconsistently, especially now that Igor Shesterkin is getting back toward his Vezina-like form.

  • Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Starting in Columbus

Quick will be stationed between the pipes for Sunday's game in Columbus, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Quick will make his first appearance since stopping 32 of 36 shots in a win over the Canadiens on Feb. 15. He's riding a four-game winning streak with a .932 save percentage during that span. The 38-year-old is 13-4-2 with a 2.36 GAA and a .917 save percentage through 20 games this season.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Five-game, eight-point streak

Trocheck picked up an assist in a 2-1 win over the Flyers on Saturday.

Trocheck has eight points (five goals, three assists) during a five-game point streak. His goal streak ended at four games. With 55 points in 58 games, Trocheck is on pace for his best season since his 31-goal, 75-point outburst with Florida during the 2017-18 campaign.

  • Rangers' Matt Rempe: Better door than window

Rempe scored the game-winning goal Saturday in a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia.

It was his first NHL point in his fourth game this season with the Rangers. The rookie forward was standing in front of Samuel Ersson when a puck tipped by Barclay Goodrow deflected in off his leg. At 6-foot-7 and 241 pounds, Rempe makes a better door than window, so Ersson had no chance. There may come a point where the Rangers consider parking Rempe in front of the net on the power play. He has never been a strong scorer at any level, but he's a real handful for opponents. Rempe also added five more PIM in Saturday's contest to give him a total of 27 so far.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Sixth straight win

Shesterkin made 39 saves in a 2-1 win over the Flyers on Saturday.

Shesterkin came up big in the first period to keep his team in the game, making 18 saves when the Rangers were outshot 18-9. He also stoned Travis Sanheim with a pad save on a 2-on-0 shorthanded breakaway at the halfway point of the third. It was Shesterkin's sixth straight win and his third consecutive outing with only one goal allowed. During his win streak, he has a 1.84 GAA and a .951 save percentage, which is a vast improvement from his previous 10 appearances (3.25 GAA and .863 save percentage).

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting in Philadelphia

Shesterkin will guard the road goal Saturday against the Flyers, according to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com.

Shesterkin has stopped 173 of 183 shots during his five-game winning streak. Through 37 appearances this campaign, he has posted a 24-12-1 record with one shutout, a 2.74 GAA and a .907 save percentage. Philadelphia is tied for 23rd in the league this season with 2.91 goals per contest.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Two points in Jersey

Trocheck produced a goal and an assist in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Devils.

After setting up Alexis Lafreniere for the Rangers' fourth goal late in the second period, Trocheck potted his team's fifth in the third, tapping in a slick feed from Artemi Panarin on a two-on-one break. Trocheck has a four-game point streak going as that trio continues to gel on a line together, and Thursday's tally was his 20th of the season, marking the sixth time in his career the 30-year-old has reached that plateau.

  • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Three helpers in Thursday's win

Panarin collected three assists while adding two shots on net, two PIM, one hit and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Devils.

The 32-year-old was a game-time call after missing Wednesday's practice due to a minor lower-body injury, but Panarin saw his usual workload and produced another outstanding line in the box score. It's his third three-point performance in the last four games, and Panarin has crept back into the top five in the NHL scoring race with 78 points (32 goals, 46 helpers) in 57 games. If he's able to avoid an injury down the stretch, Panarin appears headed for his first career 100-point campaign.

  • Rangers' Alexis Lafreniere: Lights lamp twice against Devils

Lafreniere scored two goals, one the game-winner, in Thursday's 5-1 victory over New Jersey.

The 22-year-old jumped on a loose puck late in the first period and ripped it past Nico Daws to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Lafreniere then scored again late in the second, taking a feed from Vincent Trocheck and splitting the Devils' defense from the blue line. It was Lafreniere's second multi-goal game of the season, and with 16 tallies in 2023-24 he's already matched last season's total in 24 fewer games. The first overall pick in the 2020 Draft appears to be settling in on a dangerous line with Trocheck and Artemi Panarin, and over the last nine games Lafreniere has five goals and eight points.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Extends win streak to five

Shesterkin stopped 39 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Devils.

Don't look now, but Shesterkin is back in elite form after a bumpy beginning to the season. The 28-year-old netminder has won five straight starts while allowing only 10 goals on 183 shots (.945 save percentage), and over his last 11 outings Shesterkin is 8-2-1 with a 2.39 GAA and .920 save percentage. The red-hot Rangers have climbed to the top of the Metropolitan Division and sit one point back of the Bruins for the top spot in the Eastern Conference -- Jonathan Quick has been a reliable fill-in while Shesterkin got himself sorted out, but now that he has, expect New York to lean more heavily on Shesty down the stretch.

  • Rangers' Brennan Othmann: Returned to AHL

The Rangers reassigned Othmann to AHL Hartford on Friday.

Othmann was recalled as Artemi Panarin (lower body) and Jimmy Vesey (lower body) were both game-time decisions against New Jersey on Thursday. Panarin and Vesey managed to play versus the Devils, leaving Othmann as a healthy scratch. The 21-year-old Othmann was drafted 16th overall in 2021 and has 14 goals and 22 assists in 44 AHL games this season. Othmann could crack the Rangers' lineup on a regular basis next season.

  • Rangers' Zac Jones: Just one appearance in February

Jones watched Thursday's 5-1 win over the Devils from the press box and has been a healthy scratch since Feb. 5.

Jones played in the Rangers' first game of the month as Jacob Trouba finished up a two-game suspension, but New York's seventh defenseman hasn't been called upon since that Feb. 5 win over the Avalanche. Jones remains stuck on five points in 17 appearances this season.

  • Rangers' Erik Gustafsson: Dishes helper in Thursday's win

Gustafsson picked up an assist, a blocked shot, a hit, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Devils.

Gustafsson extended his point streak to three games with a third-period stretch pass from his own zone which helped spring Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck on a 2-on-1, resulting in Trocheck's 20th goal of the season. With five goals and 21 assists through 56 games, Gustafsson's on pace to finish just shy of last season's 42 points.
