Well, it’s safe to say not many people saw this one coming. The Horizon League favorites Oakland and Valparaiso were eliminated early, which set up a rare 10 vs. 4 seed matchup in the final. And in its first season of postseason eligibility, Northern Kentucky is dancing its way into the NCAA Tournament after knocking off Milwaukee.

Milwaukee, which finished the regular season 8-23, nearly made a run like we’ve never seen before. Out of the 10-seed spot, it reeled off three straight upset wins and pushed Northern Kentucky to the brink before falling. The Panthers would have been the first team with 23 losses to make it to the Big Dance.
