Naylor is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Drives in winning run

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Tigers.

Naylor's RBI single in the eighth inning was the decisive play in this contest. The first baseman has been a bit lacking in highlight moments in July, batting a poor .215 (14-for-65) with 11 RBI through 18 games this month. For the season, he's slashing .237/.319/.469 with 22 home runs, 72 RBI, 55 runs scored, five steals and 16 doubles through 401 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Getting afternoon off

Naylor is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

Naylor had started in 13 straight contests dating back to June 27, so the Guardians will give the slugger a breather in the day game after a night game. David Fry checks in at first base in place of Naylor.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Stellar performance in win

Naylor went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run, two walks and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

Naylor took Kenta Maeda deep in the first inning and later added the go-ahead hit in the top of the tenth in Tuesday's win. In between, he stole his fourth base of the season, his first swipe since May 14. Naylor was recently named to his first All-Star Game on the back of a fantastic first half. The 27-year-old became the fifth player this season to reach 70 RBI, and he's added 22 homers while hitting .247/.324/.503 through 86 games.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Sets career high in homers

Naylor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Giants.

Naylor had some dry stretches in June, but he's turned it around by going 9-for-24 (.375) with six RBI over his last six games. The first baseman set a career high with his 21st homer of the year. He's added 64 RBI, 50 runs scored, three stolen bases, 16 doubles and a .246/.323/.505 slash line over 82 contests. He started the year hot before a shaky May and slightly better June, so he could still find another level in the second half.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Productive in win

Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the White Sox.

In addition to his two hits, Naylor also got aboard on a fielder's choice and a catcher interference. The first baseman endured a 3-for-20 stretch over six games from June 22-28, but he's bounced back with a trio of multi-hit efforts over his last five contests. Overall, he's at a .243/.322/.497 slash line with 20 home runs, 63 RBI, 48 runs scored, 16 doubles and three stolen bases through 81 games.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Absent from lineup versus righty

Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

The lefty-hitting Naylor took a seat in Tuesday's 10-8 win while southpaw Cade Povich was on the bump, but Naylor's absence Wednesday is more conspicuous against Baltimore right-hander Grayson Rodriguez. Naylor could be nursing an unspecified injury, but the Guardians have yet to provide any official confirmation on that front. Jhonkensy Noel was called up from Triple-A Columbus and will enter the lineup at first base Wednesday in place of Naylor.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Three hits, including homer in win

Naylor went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.

Naylor has now tallied at least one hit in nine of the team's last 11 contests, batting .372 with four home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored over that stretch.

Naylor went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Mariners.

Naylor opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning. He then added a two-run home run in the fifth and a solo homer in the seventh. Naylor has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 10-for-26 with three homers and seven RBI. While Naylor's current .237 average is well below last year's .308 mark, he has a .272 expected batting average and is just one homer shy of tying his career high of 20 in 2022.

Naylor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two additional RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

Naylor had an RBI single and drove in another run with a fielder's choice in the contest. While his bat is still quiet in June -- he's gone 5-for-32 (.156) over eight games -- he's still driven in eight RBI this month. Overall, the first baseman is slashing .224/.307/.483 with 17 homers, 50 RBI, 36 runs scored and three stolen bases through 62 contests.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Launches homer Tuesday

Naylor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a second run scored in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Royals.

Naylor was part of the Guardians' comeback push -- his fourth-inning homer cut the deficit to 5-3. After being one of the team's hottest hitters in April, the first baseman has hit .178 with a .719 OPS since the start of May. Naylor's power is still coming through with 16 homers, a .500 slugging percentage and a .271 ISO. He hasn't had a pronounced issue with strikeouts either, fanning at just a 16.2 percent rate while walking at a career-best 10.3 percent clip. Naylor's .308 batting average last year was likely unsustainable, but he's a better overall hitter than he's been over the last month.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Powers up in win

Naylor went 2-for-4 with two home runs, a walk, five RBI and three total runs scored in Tuesday's 13-7 win over the Rockies.

Naylor entered Tuesday 0-for-14 over his last three games, and he hadn't logged a multi-hit effort since May 9. Consider the slump busted, as the first baseman tagged starter Ryan Feltner for a two-run blast in the fifth inning before taking reliever Matt Carasiti deep with a three-run shot in the eighth. Naylor is already up to 15 homers through 52 contests this year, just five long balls shy of matching his career high from 2022. He's added a .234/.321/.510 slash line with 40 RBI, 30 runs scored and three stolen bases.

  • Guardians' Josh Naylor: Smacks 13th homer

Naylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 10-4 win over the Angels.

Naylor entered Friday having gone 2-for-21 (.095) with five strikeouts over his last six contests. He snapped his power drought with a fourth-inning blast off Angels starter Patrick Sandoval. Naylor was one of the Guardians' most consistent hitters in April, but he's tailed off in May. He's slashing .247/.337/.517 with 13 homers, 35 RBI, 27 runs scored and three stolen bases over 202 plate appearances overall. Naylor occupies a spot in the heart of the lineup, giving him a solid floor for run production even when he's scuffling.
