The 27-year-old slashed .417/.632/.833 with one home run and a 7:2 BB:K in five rehab games with Triple-A Gwinnett to convince Atlanta he was ready to roll. Acuna will likely see some extra days off initially as the club eases him back into action, and he has indicated previously that he does not intend to be as aggressive on the basepaths as he was before the surgery -- he didn't even attempt a stolen base during his rehab stint, after going 16-for-19 on steals over 49 games in 2024 prior to getting injured.

Acuna was scratched from Thursday's lineup with Triple-A Gwinnett, suggesting he would be back at some point during Atlanta's weekend series versus San Diego. That move has now been announced by the team, though he'll still need to be officially activated from the injured list. Acuna hit .417/.632/.833 across 19 plate appearances with Gwinnett and will be set to appear in a big-league game for the first time since May 26, 2024.
