Sopoaga lasted just half the season in Philadelphia. (USATSI)

This seems like a fitting end to the NFL trade deadline. Despite the speculation that Jared Allen, Hakeem Nicks and Tony Gonzalez could find themselves on new teams by Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, here's the lone trade of the day: The Eagles trade defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga and a sixth-round pick to the Patriots in exchange for New England's fifth-round pick.

This offseason, Philadelphia signed Sopoaga to a deal that included a $2.75 million bonus.

Back in the present, the move makes sense for both sides; the Patriots lost Vince Wilfork to an Achilles injury earlier this season, and the Eagles get a draft pick as first-year coach Chip Kelly goes about rebuilding this team.

Through the first half of the season, Sopoaga ranked 46th out of 68 defensive tackles, according to ProFootballFocus.com. The two rookies who replaced Wilfork in New England, Joe Vellano and Chris Jones, ranked 53rd and 67th.
