Ryan Tannehill: Not on Green Bay's radar
The Packers aren't expected to pursue adding Tannehill or another veteran quarterback after Jordan Love (knee) suffered an MCL sprain in Friday's season-opening loss to the Eagles, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic previously indicated that the Packers had reached out to Tannehill, but Pelissero suggests that the team doesn't plan to add a veteran signal-caller at this stage. At this time, the Packers are hopeful that Love is able to return on the shorter end of an estimated 3-to-6-week recovery timeline. Green Bay appears on track to have Malik Willis start their Week 2 game against the Colts, per Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

Ryan Tannehill: Contacted by Packers
The Packers have contacted Tannehill in the wake of Jordan Love suffering an MCL sprain during Friday's loss to the Eagles in Brazil, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
Since hitting free agency back in March, Tannehill has been waiting on the right opportunity, which includes a contender with a strong offensive line and a bevy of skill-position talent. Green Bay represents such a situation, and with Love set to miss 3-to-6 weeks due to his Week 1 injury, Tannehill has his first chance to join a team for the 2024 season. If the Packers and Tannehill find common ground on a contract, he'd get the chance to work with RB Josh Jacobs, WRs Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs and TEs Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave for at least a handful of games once he picks up the playbook.

Ryan Tannehill: Set to wait on right opportunity
Tannehill, who remains one of the more high-profile unsigned quarterbacks, has been the subject of calls from interested teams throughout the offseason but prefers to wait on an ideal opportunity before he commits to playing in 2024, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Specifically, sources have informed Rapoport that Tannehill is seeking to join a playoff contender in need of a quarterback that boasts a strong offensive line and offensive weapons. Tannehill has been keeping himself in shape by continuing to throw to receivers in case the right opportunity presents itself and he's compensated accordingly. The Packers boast a solid offensive line plus a deep stable of receivers and seemingly have a need for a proven veteran under center after Jordan Love (knee) suffered an MCL sprain in Friday's season-opening loss to the Eagles that will likely keep him out 3-to-6 weeks, but it's unclear if the team is interested in Tannehill or if the 36-year-old would be willing to accept what would presumably be only a short-term run as Green Bay's starter.

Ryan Tannehill: Still waiting out options
Tannehill, who has to yet to sign with a team this offseason, is still weighing his option as training camps begin. "Maybe a guy goes down on a team and [the team] gives me a call, you never know what's going to happen. So, just keeping the options open," Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Given Tannehill's 11 years of starting experience and the NFL's near maniac rush to get quality quarterbacks -- even highly paid backups -- on the roster over the past few years, it's surprising that the veteran hasn't yet found a new home. It seems clear that the 36-year-old is holding out for hope at competing for a starting job, but at this point in the offseason it remains to be seen if any such opportunity will arise. Tannehill lost his starting job midway through the 2023 campaign to Will Levis as the Titans opted for a younger signal caller amidst a woeful 6-11 season, but Tannehill did return for the team's final three games with Levis injured, failing to throw for over 170 yards in any of the aforementioned games.
