Texans' Robert Woods: Returns to practice Thursday
Woods (foot) was listed as a limited participant on the Texans' injury report Thursday.
Woods was able to play through a foot injury during the Texans' Week 5 win over the Bills, but the veteran wideout has been sidelined for Houston's last two games. His ability to practice Thursday indicates that Woods is making progress through the issue, and if he's able to practice in at least a limited capacity Friday, he'll give himself a shot at suiting up for Sunday's AFC South clash against the Colts. Woods' return would give the Texans some additional depth at wide receiver while Nico Collins (hamstring) resides on injured reserve.

Woods missed Houston's last two games due to plantar fasciitis, and while he's reportedly making progress in his recovery, the receiver still isn't ready to resume practicing. Woods hasn't played since Week 5 against the Bills and had previously been using a walking boot while working to recover from the foot injury. Woods will miss a second consecutive game due to a foot injury. Steven Sims filled in as Houston's kickoff and punt returner in Woods' absence in the 41-21 Week 6 win over the Patriots, so Sims likely will maintain those roles against the Packers, while Woods wasn't much of a factor on offense even before his injury.

Woods showed up on the Texans' practice report last week due to a foot injury, which sidelined him Thursday, limited his reps Friday and resulted in a questionable tag for Week 5 action. He suited up this past Sunday against the Bills and played 24 percent of the snaps, but he also wasn't targeted for the third time in five games this season. It appears Woods may have aggravated the issue, considering he hasn't practiced this week and now is trending toward his first absence of the campaign. Texans' Robert Woods: Not targeted in win
Woods was not targeted over 16 snaps in Sunday's 23-20 win over Buffalo in Week 5. He also returned five punts for 66 yards and one kickoff for 31 yards.
Woods, who played 54 snaps as a fill-in for wideout Tank Dell last week, was held back Sunday in favor of Xavier Hutchinson, who filled in after Nico Collins (hamstring) left the game. However the depth chart shakes out behind the top three wideouts, neither Woods nor Hutchinson are expected to see an uptick in targets when at least two of the top three are healthy. Woods replaced the inactive Steven Sims as Houston's kickoff returner Sunday.
