Jaguars' Mac Jones: Two picks in win
Jones completed 23 of 31 passes for 220 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 10-6 win over the Titans.
Jones connected with Brian Thomas on long passes of 21 and 31 yards early in the third quarter to set up the lone touchdown of the game. Those were the highlights of an otherwise unremarkable performance, as he turned the ball over with a bad interception early in the opening quarter when he overthrew Thomas and otherwise struggled to move the offense. Positively, the Jaguars managed to end their five-game losing streak, and Jones will lead the offense once again heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Jets.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Set up for more starts
Jones appears on track to step in as the Jaguars' starting quarterback beginning with Sunday's game at Tennessee after Jacksonville placed Trevor Lawrence (concussion) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Lawrence technically could return from injured reserve in Week 18, but it's probably not a consideration, as there had been discussion of him undergoing surgery on his left shoulder before he suffered a concussion during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans. Jones played well in relief of Lawrence on Sunday, after struggling mightily in previous two games when Lawrence was inactive and Jones was the starter. The Jaguars could eventually turn to CJ Beathard but will likely stick with Jones for at least the Week 14 contest. Over his two starts and three appearances off the bench this season, Jones has completed 57 of 92 pass attempts (62 percent) for 512 yards (5.6 YPA), two touchdowns and three interceptions while carrying 10 times for 21 yards and a touchdown and losing two fumbles.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Impressive in emergency duty
Jones replaced Trevor Lawrence (concussion) with 3:57 remaining in the second quarter of the Jaguars' 23-20 loss to the Texans on Sunday and completed 20 of 32 passes for 235 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed three times for six yards, recovered a fumble and threw a two-point conversion pass.
Jones got off to a slow start reminiscent of his lackluster two-game starting stint in Weeks 10 and 11, but he built momentum over the course of the second half and nearly rallied the Jaguars via a pair of fourth-quarter scoring tosses to Parker Washington (22 yards) and Brian Thomas (six yards). Jones seemingly is slated for at least one more start at the very minimum in a Week 14 road matchup against the Titans, and given the state of Jacksonville's season and Lawrence's value to the franchise, the former could well remain under center for what remains of the campaign.

Jaguars' Mac Jones: Returning to backup role
Jones will serve as the Jaguars' backup quarterback in Sunday's game against the Texans with Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) having been cleared to start after missing the previous two contests, Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union reports.
While Lawrence could still require offseason surgery to address an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder, the quarterback looks on track to play through the issue over the final six games of the season after he responded well during a trio of limited practices this week. Jones had filled in for Lawrence as Jacksonville's starter in the two games prior to the team's Week 12 bye, completing 31 of 51 pass attempts (60.8 percent) for 249 yards (4.9 YPA), no touchdowns and three interceptions in losses to the Vikings and Lions. Despite the pair of poor showings, Jones will at least retain the No. 2 job ahead of C.J. Beathard, who is inactive for the Week 13 contest.
