Shampklin (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday Night Football against the Jets.
The running back played on just four offensive snaps in the Steelers' Week 6 win over the Raiders. Shampklin also has just six carries for 17 yards and no scores on the year. Shampklin rushed four times for 14 yards during Sunday's 20-17 loss to Dallas.
Shampklin was elevated to the Steelers' 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's primetime matchup since Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) were unavailable. However, Shampklin played just 11 offensive snaps and didn't generate much production. He'll likely remain on the practice squad in Week 6 if Warren or Patterson are cleared to return.

Shampklin will receive a chance with the active roster due to Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) tending to injuries that currently have them listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. The Harvard product was elevated for Week 4 and saw 12 snaps on offense against the Colts, which included one five-yard carry. Shampklin was without a team in 2023 after being cut by the Chargers at the end of training camp. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Steelers in January, and he was competing for a depth spot at running back. Shampklin didn't show much across his three preseason outings, finishing with 13 carries for 40 yards while adding three catches on four targets for three yards. Assuming he clears waivers, he'll look to catch on with a team's practice squad.

No surprise here, as Shampklin was the fifth running back on the Chargers' depth chart. The 23-year-old went undrafted in 2022 before landing on the Colts' practice squad in December. After getting waived by Indy in May, he eventually found his way to Los Angeles in mid-August. Ultimately, he did not make the team and will now look for a new opportunity if he does not get a practice squad offer.

The Colts signed Shampklin to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, per the team's official site.
Shampklin originally signed with the Cowboys back in May of 2022 as an undrafted free agent, but after he sustained an unspecified injury during one of Dallas' preseason games, he was let go by the organization with an injury settlement prior to Week 1. The rookie running back eventually joined Indianapolis' practice squad in December, but he ultimately failed to make any game-day appearances this past season. He's now in a position to compete for a roster spot throughout the summer and into training camp.

Shampklin was waived from injured reserve by the Cowboys at the beginning of September, but the undrafted running back out of Harvard appears to have moved past his ankle injury and will look to make the most of his opportunity with the Colts. Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is on IR for the remainder of the campaign, so Shampklin could be elevated to the active roster at some point, but for now, Zack Moss and Deon Jackson are in line to handle most of the backfield opportunities.
