Jones (throat) was listed as a full practice participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report.
Jones injured his throat in the fourth quarter of the Colts' Week 16 win over the Titans. While Indianapolis didn't practice Wednesday, his full practice listing suggests that the injury won't linger into Sunday's game against the Giants. Jones has registered 85 tackles (59 solo), 12 pass defenses (including two interceptions) and one forced fumble through 15 regular-season games.

Colts' Jaylon Jones: Two INTs in win
Jones started and recorded five total tackles and two interceptions in Sunday's 21-16 win over Chicago.
Jones struggled in coverage Week 1 but has shown improvement in both of the ensuing two games. He played on all 90 of the Colts' defensive snaps Week 3, so he looks entrenched as a starter at right cornerback after winning the role in training camp.

Jones worked primarily as a starter last season, though that was largely due to Dallis Flowers suffering an Achilles injury in Week 4. Flowers has returned to the field, but Jones has nonetheless been getting work with the Colts' defensive starters during OTAs. It's possible that Jones will be able to retain his starting role following a strong rookie campaign during which he tallied 44 tackles (33 solo) and five defensed passes over 17 regular-season contests.

The 2023 seventh-round pick was thrust into a starting role early in his NFL career due to a season-ending injury to Dallis Flowers (Achilles), and by Week 8 he was handling more than 90 percent of defensive snaps. Jones played an impressive 763 defensive snaps as a rookie, and while he may not retain a full starting role for the 2024 campaign, he has certainly solidified himself as a key cog in the Colts' secondary.
