  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Picks up power-play assist

Fiala notched a power-play assist and 10 shots on goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken. Fiala accounted for one-third of the Kings' shots, but he wasn't able to contribute anything more than a secondary helper on Adrian Kempe's goal. With three points over his last two outings, it looks like Fiala may be heating up. The winger is at 15 goals, 10 assists, 13 power-play points, 124 shots on net, 30 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 42 appearances this season.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Busts slump with two points

Fiala scored a power-play goal on three shots, logged an assist and added two PIM in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Canucks. Fiala had been held off the scoresheet in his last five games. He also took a penalty in the second period, but he was able to score just after exiting the box after a Vancouver penalty created a 4-on-4 situation that became a power play for the Kings. Fiala can't afford to take bad penalties -- it has led to him getting benched at times, especially when his offense falters. The winger has 15 tallies, nine assists, 12 power-play points, 114 shots on net and 30 PIM through 41 contests this season.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Finds twine Sunday

Fiala scored a goal on five shots and went minus-2 in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Flyers. Fiala opened the scoring at 5:14 of the first period. The 28-year-old has scored four times over the last five games. His ice time hasn't been lower than 17:56 in any game in December, so while he's on the third line on paper, he's seeing a much larger role than that designation suggests. The winger is up to 14 goals, eight assists, 97 shots on net, 26 PIM and a minus-11 rating through 35 appearances this season.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Nets lone goal on power play

Fiala scored a power-play goal on four shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals. Fiala giveth and Fiala taketh away -- his tally tied the game at 1-1 on the Kings' lone power play of the game. However, he committed their only penalty as well, and the Capitals cashed in for the game-winning goal. Through nine outings in December, Fiala has four goals, one assist and 28 shots on net. The talented winger is up to 21 points (11 on the power play) with 91 shots on net, 26 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 33 appearances, mainly in a middle-six role.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Lights lamp twice in win

Fiala scored two goals in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers. The veteran winger is out of head coach Jim Hiller's doghouse and back in a prominent role. Fiala has five goals and seven points over the last 10 games, and on the season he's up to 12 goals and 20 points in 31 appearances. There's more meat on the bone for Fiala, as despite a regular spot on the Kings' top power-play unit, he hasn't found the back of the net with the man advantage since early November, with his drought standing at 18 games.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Nets game-winner Tuesday

Fiala scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Islanders. Fiala has contributed three goals and three assists over his last eight games. The 28-year-old winger remains listed on the third line, but a large power-play role has helped him approach top-six ice time, including leading the Kings' forwards with 19:39 in Tuesday's win. He's up to 10 goals, eight assists, 74 shots on net and 22 PIM through 27 outings. His flaws are much easier to deal with when he's being productive, so he's a fairly safe fantasy option currently.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Posts power-play assist

Fiala notched a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Wild. Fiala has two goals and three assists over his last seven contests, though that's an uptick that followed a six-game point drought. The 28-year-old winger is running streaky, and it doesn't help that he's been planted in the bottom six at even strength. That assignment hasn't been as bad with head coach Jim Hiller turning to seven-defensemen lineups recently, freeing up more ice time for many forwards. Fiala is at 17 points (10 on the power play), 70 shots on net, 16 hits, 22 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 26 appearances.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Just four points in last 11 games

Fiala scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-2 win over Ottawa. The assist came on the power play. November has not been kind to Fiala. He has just four points (two goals, two assists) in his last 11 games after he put up 12 points in his first 13 contests. Fiala has put up 230 points, including 85 goals, in 233 games over the course of the last three seasons, so he's too good for this to continue much longer. You may be able to acquire him in a trade if his current manager is frustrated with Fiala's performance. And that would put his bounceback onto your roster.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Pots goal Wednesday

Fiala scored a goal on four shots and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Jets. Fiala was listed on the fourth line for Wednesday's game, but he still saw 15:46 of ice time, which is fairly consistent with his normal middle-six usage. The winger got a piece of a Brandt Clarke shot to tally the Kings' third goal of the game. Fiala snapped an eight-game goal drought, during which he had just one assist. He's at eight tallies, 14 points, 59 shots on net, 22 PIM and a minus-8 rating over 22 outings this season.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Snags power-play assist

Fiala registered a power-play assist in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Kraken. Fiala snapped a six-game point drought when he set up a Quinton Byfield tally in the second period. It's been a tough first quarter of the campaign for Fiala, who has gotten into the doghouse with head coach Jim Hiller over penalties. Putting up offense is Fiala's one path to productivity, so it's not a good sign when he goes streaky. The winger is at seven goals, six helpers, 55 shots on net and 16 PIM through 20 contests overall.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Nets power-play goal Tuesday

Fiala scored a power-play goal in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Wild. Fiala scored his seventh goal of the season -- and the eventual game-winner -- late in the second period with a snap shot following set-ups from Anze Kopitar and Alex Laferriere. Fiala endured a slow start to the season but has been picking things up of late, scoring in three of his last four contests and currently riding a five-game point streak -- with three goals and four helpers during that stretch.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Scores in Monday's win

Fiala scored a goal on three shots in Monday's 3-0 win over the Predators. Fiala has five points over three games since he was scratched for missing a team meeting. More importantly for his stability in the lineup, he hasn't taken a penalty in that span. The winger is up to six goals, five helpers, 36 shots on net, eight hits, 12 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 12 appearances. He'll likely continue to fill a second-line role with a spot on the first power-play unit.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Two helpers in shootout loss

Fiala picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to Chicago. The 28-year-old winger has delivered back-to-back two-point performances since his benching Oct. 29, so it seems safe to say Fiala has received the message from coach Jim Hiller. That brief visit to the doghouse aside, Fiala's had a productive start to the season, racking up five goals and 10 points in his 11 games -- including three goals and six points on the power play.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Responds well after discipline

Fiala scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Golden Knights. Fiala had drawn head coach Jim Hiller's ire twice recently -- he took reckless penalties Saturday before missing a team meeting Tuesday that led to him being scratched. As usual, that one game off was all it took, and Fiala played a key role in the Kings' comprehensive win over Vegas. The 28-year-old has five goals, three assists, 29 shots on net, eight hits, 12 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 10 appearances. He's not particularly good defensively, but Fiala should be a lock for a middle-six role as long as he can avoid penalties.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Set to return versus Vegas

Fiala (coach's decision) is slated to return to the lineup against the Golden Knights on Wednesday, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site. It's been a rough few games for Fiala, as he was held to just 10:12 of ice time versus Utah on Saturday after being benched before missing a team meeting that saw him effectively suspended against the Sharks on Tuesday. Still, the 28-year-old winger has been producing solid offensive numbers to start the year, racking up four goals and two assists in nine games, including four power-play points. Fiala figures to replace Andre Lee in the lineup and could see time with the man advantage.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Sitting out Tuesday

Fiala won't play in Tuesday's game versus the Sharks, per the NHL media site. Per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site, Fiala missed a team meeting, which is the reason for his scratch. The winger has also drawn criticism from head coach Jim Hiller for taking too many penalties -- Fiala has 12 PIM over nine contests so far. Trevor Lewis was previously announced as the Kings' scratch up front as Akil Thomas draws in for his season debut, but Lewis will play with Fiala out.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Benched in win

Fiala put up a power-play assist Saturday before being benched later in the game. Los Angeles won 3-2 over Utah. Kings coach Jim Hiller had suggested he'd decrease ice time for players who repeatedly take bad penalties. Fiala took an interference penalty in the first period and was whistled for cross-checking in the second stanza. He ended up with 10:12 of ice time over 14 shifts. Entering Saturday's matchup, Fiala had played more than 17 minutes in six of the Kings' first eight games. Players usually respond well to situations like this, so watch for Fiala to hit the ice flying Tuesday against San Jose.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Tallies in Sunday's win

Fiala scored an empty-net goal on five shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Ducks. Fiala has potted four goals over his last four games. The 28-year-old winger is up to five points, 24 shots, five hits, six PIM and a minus-2 rating over six appearances this season. Fiala has topped 20 goals in each of the last five campaigns, and his 16.7 shooting percentage so far is in the sustainable range, so he could make a realistic effort to best his career high of 33 tallies from 2021-22.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Scores in loss to Toronto

Fiala scored a goal in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Maple Leafs. Fiala found the back of the net in the third period, and while his goal reduced the deficit to three goals, it wasn't enough to mount a comeback after the Leafs had scored five unanswered goals in the first two periods. Fiala has three goals in his last two appearances and will aim to keep the scoring streak going against the Canadiens on Thursday.

  • Kings' Kevin Fiala: Lights lamp twice Monday

Fiala scored two power-play goals in Monday's 8-7 overtime loss to the Senators. The 28-year-old winger beat Anton Forsberg midway through the first period to open the scoring, then snapped a shot past Mads Sogaard late in the second after Ottawa had switched goalies, giving Los Angeles a 5-4 lead that didn't hold up. The goals were the first of the season for Fiala. who has three points through three games as he looks to record 70-plus points for the fourth straight campaign.
