Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Plucks apple in win
Sundqvist recorded an assist and two blocked shots in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Ducks.
Sundqvist has a helper in consecutive games and four assists over his last six outings. The 30-year-old has settled into a third-line role and appears likely to hold onto that spot after being an occasional scratch in December. The veteran forward has eight points, 20 shots on net, 43 hits, 29 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 31 appearances.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Chips in with helper
Sundqvist notched an assist and two hits in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Wild.
Sundqvist has three helpers over his last five games. He missed one contest due to an illness Jan. 3 versus the Senators, but he has since resumed his usual bottom-six role. Sundqvist probably won't generate a lot of offense -- he has seven points to go with 20 shots on net, 42 hits and 27 blocked shots over 30 appearances this season, so his fantasy potential is rather limited.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Expected to play Saturday
Sundqvist (illness) is set to draw into the lineup Saturday versus Columbus, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
Sundqvist will return to the lineup after missing Friday's 4-0 victory over Ottawa. He has three goals and six points in 28 appearances in 2024-25. Sundqvist will skate on the third line alongside Jake Neighbours and Mathieu Joseph against the Blue Jackets.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Provides helper in win
Sundqvist notched an assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 7-4 win over the Predators.
Sundqvist has a goal and an assist over his last three games. The 30-year-old forward was scratched a couple of times earlier in December, but he's had steadier playing time while Radek Faksa battles a lower-body injury. Sundqvist has five points, 15 shots on net, 18 PIM, 25 blocked shots, 36 hits and a minus-4 rating over 26 contests. He's unlikely to improve on that scoring rate much, so he's not a strong option for fantasy.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Scores vs. Florida
Sundqvist scored a goal in Friday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Panthers.
Sundqvist cracked the scoresheet for the first time since Nov. 25, when he recorded an assist in a 5-2 win over the Rangers. Given his limited involvement on offense and the nature of his bottom-six role, Sundqvist won't have a prominent role in most fantasy formats. Through 24 appearances, he's recorded four points (three goals, one assist), 13 shots, 34 hits and 24 blocked shots while posting a minus-5 rating.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Chips in with assist
Sundqvist notched an assist, three shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.
Sundqvist was a healthy scratch for two games recently, but he's played the last two contests. He's part of a bottom-six rotation of scratches that also includes Mathieu Joseph, Alexandre Texier and Zachary Bolduc, all of whom will be trying to impress new head coach Jim Montgomery. Sundqvist is at three points, seven shots on net, 24 hits, 12 blocked shots and 12 PIM through 14 appearances in 2024-25, giving him minimal upside for fantasy purposes.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Power-play goal in loss
Sundqvist scored a power-play goal and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Bruins.
Sundqvist has two goals over his last four games, an improvement on the goose egg he put up over his first five contests of the season. The 30-year-old has been in the power-play mix as well, playing on the second unit. He has just three shots on net to go with 11 hits and seven blocked shots this season, and as a defensive forward, Sundqvist probably won't get a lot of good looks on offense.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Pots goal in win
Sundqvist scored a goal and added two PIM in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Lightning.
Sundqvist got on the scoresheet for the first time this season when he scored the game-tying goal at 7:57 of the second period on a rebound. The 30-year-old forward has added two shots on net, nine hits, three blocked shots, four PIM and an even plus-minus rating over six outings since he returned from a knee injury. Sundqvist has exceeded the 30-point mark just once in his career, so he's likely to fill a bottom-six role for most, if not all, of the campaign.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Being used in winger role
Sundqvist had one hit and logged 11:49 of ice time as a third-line winger in Thursday's 5-1 win over Toronto.
Sundqvist played for the first time since suffering a torn ACL in his right knee against Vegas on March 25. Normally a center, he skated on the wing on the third line with Dylan Holloway as the pivot in Thursday's victory. Sundqvist is easing his way back into the lineup and could shift back to the middle soon, per Jeremey Rutherford of The Athletic. The absence of Robert Thomas (lower body) leaves the club susceptible on faceoffs -- he was the team leader at the dot, winning 62.6 percent of his draws. Sundqvist could eventually help in the faceoff circle, where the Blues won just 32 percent of the puck drops against the Leafs.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Activated off injured reserve
Sundqvist (knee) was taken off injured reserve by the Blues on Wednesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Sundqvist is far from a lock to suit up on a nightly basis even with his knee injury seemingly behind him. Still, with Robert Thomas (ankle) facing an extended stint on the shelf, Sundqvist could be pressed into service as soon as Thursday's matchup with Toronto. In 71 regular-season tilts last year, the Swedish center generated just 21 points and will be hard-pressed to provide significantly more offense in 2024-25.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Cleared for contact
Sundqvist (knee) has been cleared for contact but is not ready to return to the lineup, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Monday.
Sundqvist can be activated off the injured non-roster list as soon as he is ready, which seems to be sooner rather than later. Even once given the green light, the 30-year-old forward will likely have to settle for a bottom-six role and could even be a healthy scratch periodically.

Sundqvist (knee) was placed on the injured non-roster list Monday.
Sundqvist sustained a torn ACL in March and was initially expected to be ready for Opening Night, but he'll need more time to recover before he's cleared to make his season debut. Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Joining practices
Sundqvist (knee) will take part in practices during training camp, but he isn't expected to participate in any preseason games, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic reports Thursday.
Rutherford clarified a previous report from Wednesday, which stated that Sundqvist wouldn't participate in training camp. Sundqvist might still be available for Opening Night, but that remains to be seen. He had six goals and 21 points in 71 appearances with the Blues last season. If he isn't available for the opener against Seattle on Oct. 8, then perhaps Nikita Alexandrov will draw into the lineup after logging just 23 contests with St. Louis in 2023-24.

Sundqvist (knee) has resumed skating, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Wednesday.
Sundqvist suffered a torn ACL on March 25 and was initially projected to be reevaluated in six months. He had six goals and 21 points in 71 contests last season.

Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Suffers torn ACL
Sundqvist is headed for surgery after sustaining a torn ACL in Monday's matchup with Vegas. He'll be reevaluated in six months.
Sundqvist will be hard-pressed to be ready in time for the start of the 2024-25 season given the expected recovery timeframe. Prior to getting hurt, the 30-year-old center was bogged down in a 15-game pointless streak on top of a 24-game goal drought. Fortunately for Sundqvist, he signed a two-year contest extension with the Blues on March 7, otherwise he'd be heading into the free-agent market with this injury hanging over his head.
