Laine picked up a pair of assists in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Tampa Bay. Laine continues to roll since his four-game absence to start January, tallying four goals and three assists, including three power-play points, over his previous six outings. While injuries have limited his season-long productivity -- he almost certainly won't get to the 50-point threshold -- Laine is at nearly a point-per-game pace and should offer top-end fantasy upside the rest of the way.... Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Nets game-winner in overtime
Laine scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Rangers. Laine made no mistake on a feed to the slot from Kaiden Guhle, giving the Canadiens their only lead of the game at 3:20 of overtime. This was Laine's fourth goal and fifth point over five contests since he returned from an illness. The star winger has been an excellent finisher in his first season in Montreal, potting 12 goals and adding three assists with 49 shots on net and a minus-2 rating through 18 appearances.... Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Tallies on power play
Laine scored a power-play goal on two shots and assisted on an even-strength tally in Saturday's 7-3 loss to Toronto. Laine, who scored his 11th of the season, lit the lamp for the 10th time while Montreal was on the power play. It seems like all 10 have come from the same spot in the same manner -- one-timers from the left faceoff circle. He has points in three of four games since returning from an illness.... See More ... Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Finds twine again
Laine scored a goal on three shots, added two PIM and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Utah. Laine's goal was his 10th of the season and his first to come at even strength -- the first nine were all on the power play. The 26-year-old winger is as dialed in as ever with 12 points through 15 appearances. He's added 43 shots on net and a minus-2 rating. His 23.3 shooting percentage will likely dip, but Laine has an elite shot and isn't afraid to pump pucks toward the net in high volumes, so his production should be fine.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Scores in return
Laine scored a power-play goal on three shots, blocked one shot and delivered two hits in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Stars. Laine, who returned to action after missing four games with flu-like symptoms, took advantage of a 5-on-3 power play. His one-timer from the left faceoff circle put Montreal up 1-0 in the second period. The tally was his ninth of the season, all of which have come on the power play.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Set to play Saturday
Laine (illness) is set to return to the lineup versus the Stars on Saturday. Laine missed four games due to an illness, but he'll return to a top-six role and power-play duties Saturday. He had eight goals and two assists over 13 appearances prior to his absence, with all of those goals being on the power play. Fantasy managers shouldn't hesitate to activate the winger.... Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Game-time decision
Laine (illness) will be a game-time call for Saturday's matchup against Dallas, according to Patrick Friolet of RDS. Laine has missed the last four games. He has accounted for eight goals, 10 points, 37 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and nine hits through 13 appearances this season. If Laine receives clearance to return, he could replace Michael Pezzetta in Saturday's lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Skates Wednesday
Laine (illness) skated on his own Wednesday but isn't yet considered fully healthy, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports. Laine has missed three straight games due to the illness. He has eight goals and 10 points in 13 appearances in 2024-25. If Laine returns for Friday's game against Washington, then Michael Pezzetta might be a healthy scratch.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Not playing Monday
Laine (illness) won't play against Vancouver on Monday. Laine will miss his third straight game. He has produced eight goals, two assists, 37 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and nine hits through 13 appearances this season. Michael Pezzetta will remain in Monday's lineup due to Laine's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Remains out Saturday
Laine (illness) will miss Saturday's tilt against Colorado, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports. Laine is set to miss his second straight game due to the illness. He has eight goals and 10 points in 13 appearances in 2024-25. Michael Pezzetta figures to remain in the lineup due to Laine's continued absence.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Won't play Friday
Laine (illness) won't be in the lineup Friday versus the Blackhawks. Laine has flu-like symptoms and will be forced to miss one game at a minimum. His status for Saturday's game versus the Avalanche has not been determined but will likely come down to a game-time decision. Michael Pezzetta is set to play Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Suits up Saturday
Laine had one shot, two blocks and finished with a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-0 win over Florida. Laine, who was removed from Montreal's previous game with an upper-body injury, had four days off during the holiday break to get ready for Saturday. The second-line winger was on the ice for 16:35.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Good to go Saturday
Laine (upper body) will play Saturday against the Panthers, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports. Laine played just 6:15 minutes before he was forced out of Monday's contest, though it appears the winger won't miss a full game due to the injury. Although Laine didn't make his season debut until Dec. 3 due to a knee issue, he's gotten off to a hot start with the Habs, tallying eight goals and nine points in his first 10 games.... See More ... Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Practices Friday
Laine (upper body) took part in Friday's practice and is expected to be in the lineup for Saturday's game against Florida, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports. Laine sustained the injury during Monday's game against the Blue Jackets, who took runs at the former Columbus forward every chance they got. Laine made comments prior to the game, trashing the organization and former teammates, which didn't sit well with the Blue Jackets. He was eventually removed in the first period after 6:15 of ice time. Laine enters Saturday's game with eight goals (all on the power play) over 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Exits Monday's game
Laine (upper body) is questionable to return to Monday's game in Columbus. Laine was not on the bench to start the second period, and his status for the remainder of the contest remains in question. The right-shot winger has been a force since making his season debut Dec. 3, racking up eight power-play goals through nine games prior to Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Another power-play tally
Laine had a power-play goal, six shots on net and one blocked shot in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings. Laine pocketed his eighth goal, all on the power play, during the Canadiens' three-goal first period. He's been hot since Montreal activated him from the injured list nine games ago; however, the winger's unsustainable 27.2 shooting percentage suggests a correction is coming.... See More ... Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Nets game-winner on power play
Laine scored a power-play goal on three shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Friday's 4-3 win over the Red Wings. Laine has scored all seven of his goals this season on the power play. His tally Friday was clutch, giving the Canadiens the lead for good at 12:02 of the third period. Laine is at eight points, 27 shots on net, six hits, eight blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over eight appearances. A little more even-strength production would help from a sustainability standpoint, but fantasy managers who waited for Laine to recover from a knee injury have been reaping the rewards early and often since his return.... Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Powers up in win
Laine scored three power-play goals and had five shots on net in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Sabres. All three of Laine's goals were one-timers from the left faceoff circle. Since coming off the injured list earlier this month, the 26-year-old forward has six tallies (all on the power play) over seven outings. The Canadiens are heavily dependent on the top line for scoring, so having a healthy Laine has been a boost for the club.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Extends solid start to season
Laine scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Monday's 3-2 shootout win over Anaheim. The 26-year-old didn't make his season debut until Dec. 3 due to a knee injury, but he's been fantastic since recovering, recording three goals and four total points in his first four contests. He's scored his three goals with the man advantage, and Laine should continue to find plenty of opportunities to produce as a member of the top six.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Patrik Laine: Scores in back-to-back games
Laine scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Predators. Laine sustained a knee injury in the preseason and didn't make his season debut until Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Islanders, but he's made his presence felt. He's now recorded power-play goals in his first two contests, and he should continue to see plenty of opportunities to produce as a top-six forward and member of the first power-play unit. This is Laine's first year with the Canadiens after spending the previous three seasons with the Blue Jackets.... See More ... See Less
