Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Tallies first helper with Carolina
Stankoven tallied an assist and registered three shots on goal in Saturday's 5-0 victory over Philadelphia.
Stankoven's first assist with the Canes led the way for another first to occur -- Scott Morrow's first career NHL goal. The 22-year-old Stankoven now has 21 assists, 31 points and 157 shots on goal in 63 appearances this season. He has two points since beginning his tenure with Carolina. Stankoven has slotted into the Canes' third line and second power-play unit. With his upgraded role and ability to get shots on goal, Stankoven has some value in deeper leagues and is a name to keep an eye on ahead of the fantasy playoffs.

Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Scores in team debut
Stankoven scored a power-play goal and took two shots on goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over Winnipeg.
Stankoven recorded two goals and two assists over his last five games with the Stars before the trade to Carolina, and he didn't need a lot of time to make his presence felt with his new team. It remains to be seen if the 22-year-old will remain in the first line for the foreseeable future, but there's no question this was a strong debut for the young forward. Stankoven recorded nine goals and 29 total points across 59 games with Dallas before being included in the deal that sent Mikko Rantanen to the Stars.

Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Traded to Carolina
Stankoven was acquired by Carolina, along with two first-round picks and a pair of third-round selections from Dallas for Mikko Rantanen, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports Friday.
Stankoven has been seeing fourth-line time with the Stars of late, but he should move up to a top-six role with the Hurricanes. Stankoven had nine goals, 20 assists and 148 shots on goal over 59 games with the Stars. The 22-year-old should also see plenty of power-play time with Carolina.

Stankoven logged an assist and two PIM in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Blues.
Stankoven has earned four points and four shots on net over his last three games since his healthy scratch last Sunday versus the Islanders. The 22-year-old forward saw a team-low 12:58 of ice time Sunday despite being on the top line at even strength -- he was able to help out on a Roope Hintz goal in the second period. Stankoven has 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists), 147 shots on net, 42 hits, six PIM and a plus-2 rating through 57 contests overall.

Stankoven helped out on a Mavrik Bourque tally in the third period. Stankoven had been scratched Sunday versus the Islanders, and that may happen again on occasion down the stretch since the Stars have 13 healthy forwards on the roster and could get Tyler Seguin (hip) back prior to the playoffs. Stankoven has been limited to four assists over 17 contests since the start of December. Stankoven's injury is believed to be minor, so he might still be an option for Sunday's game versus Winnipeg. He has four goals and 15 points in 21 appearances in 2024-25. Stankoven's absence leaves Dallas with 11 forwards who are healthy, though Roope Hintz (undisclosed) might be able to return Friday after missing Wednesday's 6-2 loss to Chicago. Hintz's return would bring the Stars up to 12 healthy forwards, but if he can't play, then Dallas would presumably dress seven blueliners, including Alex Petrovic, who was recalled from AHL Texas on Friday.

Stankoven recorded a goal and took six shots in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Bruins.
Stankoven is beginning to heat up and has found the back of the net in three of his last four appearances. The promising 21-year-old playmaker has already matched his contributions from the 2023-24 regular season, where he recorded 14 points in 12 games, as he has 14 points (four goals, 10 helpers) in only 15 contests in his second year in the league. One of the top prospects in the Stars' organization, Stankoven continues to show he belongs in a regular role at the NHL level with each passing game.
