  • Coyotes' Clayton Keller: Unavailable versus Habs

Keller (upper body) will not be an option against Montreal on Tuesday after head coach Andre Tourigny told reporters, "It will take a few days ... Not tomorrow," per Patrick Brown of the Coyotes' official site.

Keller has been rolling of late with five goals and eight helpers in his last 15 contests, including five power-play points. There are several options to replace Keller on the top line but Jason Zucker could be in line for a promotion to the first group while Logan Cooley might move up to the No. 1 power-play unit.

  • Coyotes' Michael Carcone: Playing time inconsistent

Carcone has been scratched for five of the Coyotes' nine games in February.

Carcone was one of the team's best stories early in the season, but the magic has worn off. He's scoreless in his last eight outings and has just one goal since the calendar flipped to 2024. For the season, the 27-year-old has 15 goals, five assists, 72 shots on net, 36 hits and 20 PIM through 49 appearances. Carcone may get a chance to play soon with Clayton Keller (upper body) leaving Sunday's game versus the Jets.

  • Coyotes' Juuso Valimaki: Pockets helper

Valimaki notched an assist and two shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

Valimaki snapped a four-game slump when he set up a Matias Maccelli tally in the second period. The 25-year-old Valimaki has five points over his last 13 outings while seeing mostly bottom-four usage on the Coyotes' blue line during the team's 12-game losing streak. For the season, he has 11 points, 38 shots on net, 39 hits, 46 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 43 appearances.

  • Coyotes' Alex Kerfoot: Picks up helper

Kerfoot notched an assist and two hits in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

Kerfoot has a helper in three of the last four games. The 29-year-old has done alright on offense despite logging bottom-six minutes in recent weeks. He's up to 33 points, 72 shots on net, 42 hits, 42 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating over 57 appearances. Kerfoot had just 32 points in 82 games with the Maple Leafs last season, so it's safe to say he's been a good fit with the Coyotes.

  • Coyotes' Jason Zucker: Posts power-play helper

Zucker notched a power-play assist and four shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

Zucker snapped his five-game point drought with the helper. The winger's veteran presence could be helpful for the Coyotes if Clayton Keller (upper body) misses time with the injury he sustained Sunday. Zucker has had mediocre returns on offense this season with 23 points, 96 shots on net, 67 hits, 48 PIM and a minus-3 rating through 47 outings, but he's spent a large portion of the campaign in a bottom-six role.

  • Coyotes' Dylan Guenther: Provides helper in overtime loss

Guenther notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

Guenther is up to five points over his last eight outings. The 20-year-old winger set up a Nick Schmaltz tally in the first period. Guenther has six goals, six assists, 41 shots on net, eight PIM and a plus-1 rating through 20 contests this season. If Clayton Keller (upper body) misses time after exiting Sunday's game, Guenther could be one of the players to see an increased role.

  • Coyotes' Lawson Crouse: Contributes helper Sunday

Crouse logged an assist, three shots on goal, three hits and two blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

Crouse has rebounded a bit lately, picking up three points, 13 shots and 14 hits over his last four contests. The winger helped out on a Matias Maccelli marker in the second period. Crouse is up to 20 goals, 12 assists, 129 shots on net, 124 hits, 39 blocked shots, 32 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 56 outings. He's on a pace similar to the one that saw him generate 45 points in 77 appearances in 2022-23.

  • Coyotes' Matias Maccelli: Reaches 10-goal mark

Maccelli scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

This was Maccelli's second straight game with a goal. The 23-year-old winger has three tallies and three assists over nine outings in February while continuing to play on the Coyotes' second line. He could see increased responsibilities following Clayton Keller (upper body) leaving Sunday's game. Maccelli has 10 goals, 38 points, 98 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through 57 contests overall.

  • Coyotes' Nick Schmaltz: Deposits two goals in loss

Schmaltz scored a pair of goals on five shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

Schmaltz had scored just one goal while adding five assists over his previous 14 contests. The 28-year-old struck on the power play in the first period and added an even-strength marker in the third. Schmaltz may need to carry more of the load for the Coyotes with Clayton Keller (upper body) exiting Sunday's contest. Schmaltz has 16 goals, 34 points, 111 shots on net and a minus-18 rating through 54 appearances.

  • Coyotes' Connor Ingram: Loses in overtime Sunday

Ingram stopped 28 of 32 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

Ingram missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, and he drew a tough assignment in his return. The Coyotes showed some resolve to erase a two-goal deficit, but Kyle Connor's tally 33 seconds into the extra session sent Ingram to his sixth straight defeat (0-4-2). The 26-year-old Ingram dropped to 17-13-3 with a 2.80 GAA and a .911 save percentage over 36 appearances. Karel Vejmelka did nothing to claim the No. 1 job in Ingram's absence, and it's possible the two goalies will alternate starts until a hot hand emerges.

  • Coyotes' Clayton Keller: Exits Sunday's contest

Keller (upper body) will not return to Sunday's game against Winnipeg.

Keller put one shot on net in 8:16 of ice time before leaving the contest. The 25-year-old has 21 points over his last 20 games, giving him 52 across 57 appearances this season. An update on his status should be available before Tuesday's matchup with Montreal.

  • Coyotes' Liam O'Brien: Returning Sunday

O'Brien (upper body) will return to the Coyotes' lineup Sunday against Winnipeg, Patrick Brown of the team's official site reports.

O'Brien missed Arizona's last six games after suffering an upper-body injury. The 29-year-old forward has three goals, eight points and 129 hits through 49 games this season. O'Brien will take over for Michael Carcone on the Coyotes' fourth line.

  • Coyotes' Connor Ingram: Starting Sunday

Ingram (lower body) will defend the visiting crease in Winnipeg on Sunday, per Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.

The Coyotes sent Matt Villalta back to the minors Thursday, paving the way for Ingram's return from a four-game absence. The 26-year-old Ingram has a 17-13-2 record this season with five shutouts, a .912 save percentage and a 2.76 GAA in 35 outings this season. He will face a Jets team that is averaging 30.8 shots on goal per game this campaign, which ranks 17th in the NHL.

  • Coyotes' Matt Villalta: Returned to AHL

The Coyotes reassigned Villalta to AHL Tucson on Thursday.

Villalta was recalled a week ago when Connor Ingram suffered an undisclosed injury. Villalta managed to get into a pair of games -- stopping all four shots in relief of Karel Vejmelka on Feb. 16 and then giving up five goals on 25 shots in a 6-3 loss to Edmonton on Monday. This could be good news for the Coyotes, as it appears that Ingram is ready to return.

  • Coyotes' Josh Brown: Puts up helper in loss

Brown notched an assist, three shots on goal, four hits and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Brown has played in three straight games after being scratched for five straight contests to begin February. The 30-year-old has displaced Travis Dermott from the lineup. Brown is up to six points, 27 shots on net, 53 hits, 53 blocked shots, 45 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 31 outings. Even when he plays, he's limited to a third-pairing role, and he's generated too little offense to make a splash in fantasy.

  • Coyotes' Sean Durzi: Registers power-play assist

Durzi posted a power-play assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots, four PIM and a minus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Durzi has a helper in consecutive contests after going seven games without a point. He assisted on a Dylan Guenther tally late in the second period Wednesday. Durzi's slump didn't cost him his spot on the first power-play unit, where he's earned 12 of his 30 points this season. The defenseman has added 89 shots on net, 111 blocked shots, 49 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 50 appearances.
