Stars' Thomas Harley: Signed before camp opens
Harley signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Stars on Tuesday.
It's a bridge deal for the 23-year-old defenseman, who broke out with 15 goals, 32 assists, nine power-play points, 135 blocked shots and a plus-28 rating over 79 games last year. Harley was a restricted free agent prior to signing. He'll be a popular depth pick in fantasy drafts this fall, though his 10.4 shooting percentage from 2023-24 could be a cause for worries about regression, as that's an unusually high mark for a blueliner.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Helpers in consecutive games
Harley notched an assist and blocked six shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 5.
The six blocks were one off Harley's playoff high. More notably, he got on the scoresheet for the second game in a row, assisting on a Wyatt Johnston tally in the third period to break up Stuart Skinner's shutout bid. Harley has been limited to four helpers over 18 playoff outings, but he's added 50 blocks, 27 shots on net and a plus-8 rating in a top-four role.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Bags apple in loss
Harley notched an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Oilers in Game 4.
The helper snapped a seven-game slump for Harley. The 22-year-old defenseman may be starting to feel the wear and tear of a full-length NHL season and a deep playoff run, as he's struggled to provide a strong two-way game in the playoffs. Harley has three helpers, 44 blocked shots, 27 shots on net, 12 hits and a plus-8 rating over 17 postseason contests. He was dropped to the second pairing Wednesday after spending a majority of the playoffs alongside Miro Heiskanen on the top pairing. There may be more shuffling ahead for the Stars' defense if Chris Tanev (lower body) can't suit up Friday in Game 5.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Sets up shortie
Harley logged a shorthanded assist and four shots on goal in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche in Game 2.
Harley took a shot, and Tyler Seguin was able to knock in the rebound for the Stars' fourth goal. Both of Harley's helpers this postseason have come within the last three games. The 22-year-old blueliner is up to 18 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating while holding down a top-four role through nine playoff contests. Dallas has leaned heavily on its top defensemen, so Harley should continue to see massive minutes even if he's not a significant factor on offense.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Gets first point of postseason
Harley registered an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Golden Knights in Game 7.
Harley snapped a seven-game point drought with the helper on Radek Faksa's third-period tally, which was the game-winning goal. The 22-year-old Harley had an excellent regular season with 15 goals and 47 points over 79 appearances, but he has just one assist with 12 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through seven playoff outings. He'll still absorb top-four minutes, especially with Dallas leaning heavily on five blueliners, but his offense may take a back seat to his defensive duties again versus the Avalanche in the second round.

Harley notched an assist and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Oilers.
Harley set up Wyatt Johnston's goal in the second period. The 22-year-old Harley entered Wednesday with no points over his last four outings. He's gotten a little streaky down the stretch, but he's also seeing top-pairing minutes and all of the tough defensive assignments that come with that role. On the year, he has 41 points, 137 shots on net, 129 blocked shots, 61 hits and a plus-25 rating through 73 contests.

Harley logged an assist, six hits and five blocked shots in Friday's 4-2 win over the Penguins.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Ends seven-game slump
Harley registered an assist, three shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Devils.

The 22-year-old defenseman has 36 points, 124 shots on net, 111 blocked shots, 49 hits and a plus-16 rating through 65 appearances. Despite the slump, Harley remains on the top pairing and second power-play unit, so he'll continue to have some fantasy upside if he can turn things around.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Supplies power-play helper
Harley notched a power-play assist and two PIM in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Islanders.
Harley snapped a three-game point drought with the helper. He set up Matt Duchene for the Stars' first tally in the game. He's at 35 points (six on the power play) with 108 shots on net, 104 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating through 57 appearances.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Steps up for depleted blue line
Harley logged an assist, two shots on goal and five blocked shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Bruins.
Harley led the Stars with 29:13 of ice time, taking on extra work with Miro Heiskanen (personal) joining Jani Hakanpaa (upper body) and Nils Lundkvist (concussion) amid the team's absences on the blue line. This game was further proof Harley is capable of playing a top-pairing role as a rising star among the NHL's defensemen. He's put up a strong season with 14 goals, 34 points, 103 shots on net, 97 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating through 53 appearances. Harley has earned 13 of his points over the last 12 contests, so he seems to be growing as the Stars continue to challenge him with tougher assignments.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Two-point effort in OT loss
Harley scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers.
All the scoring in regulation for both teams came in the second period, with Harley potting his 14th goal of the season early in the frame. The 22-year-old blueliner lost some ice time when Miro Heiskanen returned to the lineup in late January, but his production hasn't wavered -- over eight games with Heiskanen back in action, Harley has five goals and eight points, although Saturday's helper was his first power-play point during that stretch.

Stars' Thomas Harley: Chips in with helper
Harley recorded an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 9-2 win over the Predators.
Harley hasn't had a dry spell longer than two games since early December. The 22-year-old defenseman has just two points over five games since the All-Star break, but he's also been on the top pairing alongside Miro Heiskanen, which means much tougher defensive matchups. That pairing also tends to split the bulk of the blue-line production in Dallas, but both are solid fantasy options. Harley has 31 points, 97 shots on net, 90 blocked shots and a plus-17 rating through 51 appearances this season.

Harley scored a goal on eight shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Canadiens.
Harley scored at 3:51 of the second period, answering Nick Suzuki's opening goal in the opening minute of the frame. After two scoreless outings following the All-Star break, Harley's back on the scoresheet, alleviating any fears of a prolonged slump. The 22-year-old defenseman has enjoyed a huge breakout this season with 13 goals, 30 points, 95 shots on net, 82 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating through 49 contests. He's on the Stars' top pairing and second power-play unit, though sustaining his 13.7 shooting percentage will likely be difficult.
