SEC scoreboard

Ole Miss 41, Auburn 20: The Rebels (4-3, 1-2 SEC) got their first conference win since they defeated Kentucky on Oct. 2, 2010. QB Bo Wallace and RB Jeff Scott were the biggest factors for Ole Miss. Wallace accounted for four TDS -- two rushing, one passing and one receiving -- and Scott had more than 200 all-purpose yards. Auburn (1-5, 0-4 SEC) got two touchdown runs from RB Tre Mason, but Ole Miss outscored the Tigers 24-7 in the second half. (For more on the game, check out CBSSports.com's Eye on College Football blog)

No. 1 Alabama 42, Missouri 10: Alabama (6-0, 3-0 SEC) ran for six TDs on its way to the easy win. This game was delayed for 40 minutes in the second quarter when lightning was spotted with the Crimson Tide up 27-0. Alabama tacked on an extra point after the delay, but Missouri (3-4, 0-4 SEC) scored the next 10 points. It was all Alabama from there. RBs Eddie Lacy and Kenyan Drake added the last two scores. Alabama QB AJ McCarron suffered a twisted right knee, but returned after being fitted with a brace. (For more on the game, check out CBSSports.com's Eye on College Football blog)

No. 4 Florida 31, Vanderbilt 17: Florida (6-0, 5-0 SEC) survived a test from a Vanderbilt (2-4, 1-3 SEC) team that has proven to be a tough opponent at home. Gators QB Jeff Driskel sealed the win with a 70-yard TD run with about two minutes remaining. He set a school record for rushing yards by a QB with 177. Florida K Caleb Sturgis added three short FGs. Vanderbilt was led by WR Jordan Matthews, who had eight catches for 131 yards and a TD. (For more on the game, check out CBSSports.com's Eye on College Football blog)

Arkansas 49, Kentucky 7: The Razorbacks (3-4, 2-2 SEC) had no problem dismissing a Kentucky team that has been decimated by injuries in a game that was called in the third quarter due to lightning. QB Tyler Wilson lit up the Wildcats (1-6, 0-4 SEC) with 371 yards passing and five TDs. WRs Jonathan Williams and Cobi Hamilton combined for 11 receptions for 237 yards for the Razorbacks.

No. 9 LSU 23, No. 3 South Carolina 21: LSU, coming off a loss at Florida last week, bounced back for a huge home win over the Gamecocks (6-1, 4-1 SEC). The Tigers (6-1, 2-1 SEC) had four RBs with at least seven carries. RB Jeremy Hill led with 17 carries for 124 yards and two TDs. The Tigers also held the touted South Carolina rushing attack to just 31 yards. Star RB Marcus Lattimore only had 35 rushing yards on 13 attempts. (For more on the game, check out CBSSports.com's Eye on College Football blog)

No. 19 Mississippi State 41, Tennessee 31: Mississippi State QB Tyler Russell outplayed Tennessee QB Tyler Bray, and the Bulldogs (6-0, 3-0 SEC) snapped a six-game losing streak to the Vols on Saturday night. Russell finshed the game with 291 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Bray only had 148 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Tennessee (3-3, 0-3 SEC) WR Cordarrelle Patterson returned a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, but the Vols could never completely catch the Bulldogs, who never trailed in the game. No. 22 Texas A&M 59, No. 23 Louisiana Tech 57: Louisiana Tech (5-1, 0-0 WAC) wouldn't quit, but Texas A&M (5-1, 2-1 SEC) stopped a two-point conversion in the final minute to preserve the shootout victory. The Aggies appeared to have the game won multiple times, but an onside-kick recovery late from the Bulldogs keyed a last-minute comeback attempt that ultimately fell just short. The teams combined for 1,299 yards of total offense.

Play of the day: Ole Miss took a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter on a 55-yard touchdown pass from Wallace to Scott. Scott appeared to be down after about 12 yards, but he rolled on the back of an Auburn defender and was able to keep running. It was reminiscent of former Auburn RB Michael Dyer's 37-yard TD run against Oregon in the national title game on Jan 12, 2011.

Runner-up: With the Vols trailing 17-7, WR Cordarrelle Patterson took a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter. Patterson again proved to be one of the best all-around athletes in the league

He said what? Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze on the Rebels winning their first SEC game in two years:

“Obviously, words really cannot describe the feeling in that locker room and in the stadium. For the better part of two and a half years the Rebel fans and students and players and administration have had to put up with some disappointing times. We're not there yet, nor do we think we are, but today we were."

RapidReports defensive star of the day: Mississippi State CB Johnthan Banks. Tennessee was driving, only down by three points in the fourth quarter, when Banks made a crucial strip and fumble recovery. Banks also added six tackles and a pass deflection, along with playing strong coverage on Tennessee's talented WRs all evening.

Runner-up: Ole Miss LB Mike Marry. Marry intercepted Auburn QB Clint Moseley and returned it 38 yards to essentially end any chance Auburn had of making a comeback in the fourth quarter. The junior also added a sack, 1.5 tackles for loss and six total tackles on the day.

RapidReports offensive star of the day: Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel. The freshman QB put up huge numbers for the Aggies yet again. He had 396 passing yards, 180 rushing yards and six total touchdowns.

Runners-up: Alabama RBs Lacy and T.J. Yeldon. Missouri had no answer for the Alabama duo. Lacy had 18 carries for 177 yards and three touchdowns, and Yeldon had 144 yards and two scores on 18 carries.

2nd runner-up: QB Driskel. He only had 77 yards passing, but any time you break a Florida record held by Tim Tebow, you should get recognition. That's exactly what Driskel did with his 177 rushing yards -- the most ever by a Florida QB.

His seat is getting uncomfortable: Auburn coach Gene Chizik. He's becoming a regular in this category. It's hard to fathom that Auburn could fire a coach who is just two seasons removed from winning a national championship, but Chizik is in real danger after a 1-5 start. A bowl is beginning to look less and less likely for the slumping Tigers.

A possible spot on the bench for: Auburn QB Moseley. He had a decent first half, but he couldn't rally the Tigers in the second. He finished the game 11 of 18 for 112 yards. He had a chance to pull Auburn within a score late in the fourth, but a costly interception ended the drive. The Tigers are running out of options at QB. Freshman Jonathan Wallace, who played some against Ole Miss, could get a shot at a full game next.

Why you should care about these stat lines:

1. Auburn has been outscored 62-3 in the second half this season: That number speaks for itself. The Tigers have been totally overmatched late in games. It's a reflection on poor coaching and a lack of depth.

2. Alabama had 369 rushing yards to Missouri's 37: That was the story of this game. Missouri played well on special teams and contained the Alabama passing attack, but it had no answer for the Tide's powerful rushing game.

3. Florida gave up its first fourth-quarter point of the season to Vanderbilt: The Gators pulled out the win over Vanderbilt, but they weren't as dominant in the fourth quarter. Coming into Saturday's game, they had outscored opponents 41-0 in the final quarter.

Key number: 16. That's how many consecutive SEC games Ole Miss lost before knocking off Auburn.
