The Diamondbacks designated Bowman for assignment Sunday.

Acquired from the Twins on May 2, Bowman made four appearances out of the Arizona bullpen, giving up six earned runs over 6.2 innings. The 32-year-old righty didn't have any minor-league options remaining, so Arizona had to remove him from the 40-man roster to clear room on the 26-man active roster for lefty Blake Walston, who was called up from Triple-A Reno ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Marlins. Bowman will now be exposed to waivers and could head to Reno if he clears.
