White Sox's Drew Thorpe: Earns first career win
Thorpe (1-1) earned the win against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out five over six scoreless innings.
Thorpe turned in the best start of his young major-league career, earning his first win in the process. He leaned on his changeup, throwing it 38 times and generating an impressive 10 swinging strikes on the pitch. The rookie walked four batters after yielding five free passes June 16 and owns an unimpressive 9:11 K:BB with a 5.02 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 14.1 innings with the White Sox. He lines up for a home matchup with Atlanta next week.

White Sox's Drew Thorpe: Poor showing against D-Backs
Thorpe (0-1) took the loss Sunday against Arizona, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on six hits and five walks with no strikeouts over 3.1 innings.
After yielding one run across five innings in his MLB debut, Thorpe looked more like a rookie Sunday. The 23-year-old issued five walks in the abbreviated start, an uncharacteristic amount considering he hadn't walked more than two batters in an outing at any level this season. Thorpe allowed the first five batters he faced to reach and yielded a solo homer to Christian Walker in the first inning. He was pulled early in the fourth inning despite having thrown only 60 pitches after a catcher's interference loaded the bases with one out. Considering the lack of alternative starting options, Thorpe should have another turn in the rotation but could be the odd man out once Mike Clevinger (elbow) returns in late June.

White Sox's Drew Thorpe: Receiving another start
Thorpe is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
The bar has been low for pitchers at the back end of the White Sox rotation this season, so it's not surprising that Thorpe will stick around with the big club after he held his own in his MLB debut Tuesday in Seattle. He covered five frames and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out four and inducing swinging strikes on 11 of his 98 pitches, right around a league-average rate.

Thorpe allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Tuesday.
Thorpe was just fine in his major-league debut, though he needed 98 pitches (61 strikes) to get through five frames. The 23-year-old right-hander gave up three doubles and had to contend with two errors by the White Sox, but he ultimately held his own. Thorpe was 7-1 with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 56:17 K:BB over 60 innings with Double-A Birmingham to begin the year, but it looks like he could stick in the majors for a while after the White Sox optioned Nick Nastrini to Triple-A Charlotte and designated Jake Woodford for assignment over the last week. Thorpe is tentatively projected to make his next start at Arizona.

White Sox's Drew Thorpe: Contract selected for debut
The White Sox selected Thorpe's contract from Double-A Birmingham, and he'll start Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Manager Pedro Grifol said Sunday that Thorpe was likely to take the mound Tuesday for Chicago, and the right-hander has now been added to the 26-man and 40-man rosters. The 23-year-old will skip the Triple-A level to make his MLB debut after posting a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 56:17 K:BB over 60 innings for Birmingham this year.

White Sox's Drew Thorpe: Likely making debut Tuesday
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Sunday that Thorpe is expected to be called up from Double-A Birmingham to start Tuesday against the Mariners, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Thorpe has been dominant for Double-A Birmingham this season with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 56:17 K:BB over 60 innings, and he's set to bypass Triple-A Charlotte to make his MLB debut. A second-round pick of the Yankees in 2022 who was traded to the Padres in the Juan Soto deal and then flipped to the White Sox as part of the package for Dylan Cease, the 23-year-old righty has just 34 professional appearances under his belt.
