Amador (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday.
Amador suffered a right oblique strain in Thursday's game against the Dodgers, a injury similar to one he sustained earlier in the season at Double-A Hartford. Amador's move to the injured list comes as Brendan Rodgers gets activated from the IL, meaning the rookie's playing time was coming to an end regardless. Manager Bud Black said Amador was removed from Thursday's game against the Dodgers due to a "mild oblique strain," Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.
Amador appeared to be wincing after his at-bat in the seventh inning and was replaced in the field before the eighth frame. The 21-year-old suffered a similar injury earlier in the season while with Double-A Hartford, and it remains to be seen whether he'll require a trip to the injured list.

Amador started at second base and hit eighth in his big-league debut Sunday. He led off the third inning with a single and then proceeded to swipe second base. Amador should get regular run in the lineup so long as Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) is sidelined.

The Rockies called up Amador from Double-A Hartford, and he'll start at second base and bat eighth Sunday at St. Louis.
The 21-year-old is taking the roster spot of Brendan Rodgers (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. Amador is one of the organization's top prospects, and he'll make his MLB debut without seeing action at the Triple-A level. Amador's .666 OPS in 208 plate appearances for Hartford this season isn't encouraging, though he carried a hot bat over his past nine games and had a .359/.422/.846 slash line with six home runs and six stolen bases.

Amador joined the Rockies in St. Louis on Saturday, though the team has yet to formally call him up from Double-A Hartford, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Amador sports a .666 OPS through 208 plate appearances this season with Hartford, but he has slashed .326/.388/.767 with six homers and 14 RBI while also stealing six bases across his last 10 games. With the Rockies waiting to see if Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) will require a trip to the injured list, Amador will remain on the club's taxi squad for the time being. Rockies' Adael Amador: Slow start in rearview mirror
Amador has homered in three straight games and is slashing .333/.422/.741 with seven home runs and seven steals in his last 13 games for Double-A Hartford.
The prized second baseman slashed .135/.309/.144 with one extra-base hit in his first 32 games of the season, so his overall season stats aren't spectacular, but Amador is beginning to show the type of update that his dynasty managers were expecting. Amador is also a threat on the bases, having stolen 22 bags on 25 attempts in 45 games. He should be Ezequiel Tovar's double-play partner in Colorado for most, if not all, of 2025.

Rockies' Adael Amador: Lengthy power outage
Amador is slashing .138/.312/.149 with zero home runs, 12 steals and more walks (19) than strikeouts (17) in 25 games for Double-A Hartford.
Coming into the year, Amador was seen as one of the best pure hitters in the minors, so it's a bit jarring to see his batting average sitting at .138 through the first five weeks of the season. Perhaps more concerning though, is Amador's complete lack of power, as his .171 BABIP and overly patient approach largely explain his low batting average. Amador's 20.6 percent hard-hit rate and 63.2 percent groundball rate are very troubling marks. He is playing half his games in Hartford, which is essentially a neutral hitting environment, after getting to play half his High-A games at the very hitter-friendly park in Spokane, which helped him slug .514 in 54 High-A games last year.

Rockies' Adael Amador: Sent to Double-A
The Rockies optioned Amador to Double-A Hartford on Friday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Amador received a late promotion to Hartford last season and will return to the affiliate to begin 2024. The 20-year-old spent most of the season at High-A Spokane, where he had a .905 OPS with nine home runs and 12 steals in 54 games.
