  • Brett Wisely SS | SF

Giants' Brett Wisely: Resting against lefty

Wisely is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The lefty-hitting Wisely will take a seat for the second time during the four-game series with the Cubs while Chicago sends another lefty (Shota Imanaga) to the hill. Nick Ahmed will fill in for Wisely at shortstop, while outfielder Austin Slater replaces Wisely atop the batting order.

  • Livan Soto DH | CIN

Reds' Livan Soto: Makes season debut

Soto served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Pirates.

Soto made his first appearance for the Reds since being recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. With Noelvi Marte (suspension) expected to be reinstated Thursday, Soto could return to Louisville.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | ATL

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Sitting Game 2

Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

The 29-year-old exited Monday's contest due to dizziness and won't start the night game of Wednesday's twin bill. Luke Williams will start at shortstop in place of Arcia for the nightcap.

  • Tim Anderson SS | MIA

Marlins' Tim Anderson: Resting for day game

Anderson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

The veteran shortstop will take a seat Wednesday while the Marlins wrap up their series in Kansas City with a day game after a night game. Vidal Brujan will step in as the Marlins' starting shortstop in Anderson's stead.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | ATL

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Out for Game 1 of twin bill

Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals.

Before Tuesday's game was rained out, Atlanta manager Brian Snitker disclosed that Arcia still wasn't feeling well after exiting Monday's 4-3 loss due to dizziness. Snitker didn't entirely rule Arcia out for both games of the twin bill, but it wouldn't be surprising if Atlanta opted to give the veteran shortstop the full day off to recover. Zack Short will cover shortstop in Arcia's stead in the first game of the day.

  • Otto Lopez SS | MIA

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Swipes bag Tuesday

Lopez went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Royals.

The 25-year-old infielder ripped a one-out double in the seventh inning and came around to score the Marlins' first run of the night in a 2-1 victory. Lopez has slowed down at the plate in June, slashing .203/.224/.250 with three doubles, two steals, four RBI and five runs in 18 games, but he continues to hold down the starting job at second base.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | ATL

Braves' Orlando Arcia: Could miss multiple days

Arcia (head) got checked out at a local hospital Tuesday after continuing to feel unwell Monday night, and while tests came back negative, the shortstop could be sidelined for multiple days, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. "We'll probably give him two or three days," manager Brian Snitker said prior to Tuesday's game in St. Louis being rained out.

Arcia left Monday's 4-3 loss to St. Louis due to dizziness that was initially attributed to dehydration, although no official diagnosis has been announced. Atlanta is set to play a doubleheader Wednesday against the Cardinals following the rainout, but Arcia could end up sitting for the entire twin bill if he's still not feeling 100 percent. Zack Short will handle shortstop duties until he's ready to return, and Luke Williams was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday to provide depth at the position.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: On base five times Tuesday

Abrams went 3-for-3 with two walks, one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Padres.

Abrams has rattled off three hits in four of his last five games, and he's added three steals, three RBI and eight runs scored in that span. The shortstop's sizzling stretch has him up to a .283/.335/.507 slash line through 71 contests. His .842 OPS is his highest mark since May 12. Abrams has done a little of everything this year, adding 12 home runs, 40 RBI, 48 runs scored, 13 steals, 19 doubles and five triples.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | ATL

Braves' Orlando Arcia: On bench as expected

Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Arcia was expected to miss Tuesday's game after being lifted from Monday's contest due to dizziness. Zack Short will fill in at shortstop and Arcia should be considered day-to-day moving forward.

  • Edmundo Sosa SS | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Back in action Tuesday

Sosa (elbow) will start at second base and bat sixth in Tuesday's game in Detroit.

Sosa had to depart a game over the weekend after being hit in the left elbow by a pitch, but he's ready to roll now. He and his teammates will be tasked in trying to solve Tarik Skubal on Tuesday.
