Texans' Dalton Schultz: Misses practice Wednesday
Schultz (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Schultz played 79 percent of offensive snaps in Week 1 while securing all three of his targets for 16 yards, but he appears to have sustained an ankle injury in the process. The starting tight end will have two more opportunities to increase his activity level before Houston tags him with an injury designation for Sunday night's matchup against the Bears. If Schultz ends up limited or has to miss any time, Brevin Jordan will stand to draw the start at tight end.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Three targets in Week 1
Schultz caught all three of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 29-27 win over the Colts in Week 1.
As expected, Schultz was the snap and target leader at tight end, ahead of Brevin Jordan. Even so, Schultz may be hard pressed to repeat the 88 targets he had in 2023. The target distribution Sunday heavily skewed toward Houston's wideouts, who were targeted 22 times compared to five for the tight ends.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Makes preseason debut
Schultz did not catch his lone target in Friday's 20-12 preseason win over Pittsburgh.
Schultz made his preseason debut and played 11 snaps in the first quarter. The Texans quickly extended him for three years during the offseason, after Schultz developed chemistry with then-rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. He'll be an important component to the team's passing attack, but Houston added a high-profile target in Stefon Diggs, which could cut into Schultz's opportunities.
