  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Held to 27 yards on ground

Foreman rushed the ball 10 times for 27 yards in Saturday's 35-10 loss to the Ravens. He added one reception on one target for eight yards. Foreman led the Cleveland backfield due to both Jerome Ford (ankle) and Pierre Strong (concussion) sidelined. He wasn't able to rack up much yardage against a stout Baltimore defense, as four of his 10 attempts went for zero or one yards. Foreman is set to hit free agency this offseason, and he will likely be in line to compete for a backup job during training camp in 2025.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Lead role could await in Week 18

Foreman is likely to serve as the Browns' lead back in Saturday's game against the Ravens with Cleveland having ruled out Jerome Ford (ankle) and Pierre Strong (concussion) for the contest, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. The Browns also have John Kelly on the 53-man roster and could look to elevate one of Aidan Robbins or Jacob Kibodi from the practice squad in Week 18, but Foreman is Cleveland's most experienced running back by far and thus projects to see most of the work, at least on early downs. After Ford left early in this past Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Dolphins due to the ankle injury, Foreman finished as the Browns' rushing leader with 49 yards on 13 carries. He was also targeted twice across his 37 snaps but failed to record a reception.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

Jerome Ford (ankle) is likely out in Week 18 at Baltimore, which means Foreman should get a lot of work in a tough matchup against the Ravens. He is only worth using as a flex option in deeper leagues. Foreman had 13 carries for 49 yards and two targets against Miami in Week 17 when Ford was injured. The Browns added John Kelly (1 percent rostered) to the active roster with Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. (concussion) hurt, but Kelly is only a desperation play in deep PPR leagues.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Larger role in Week 17

Foreman rushed 13 times for 49 yards and did not bring in either of his targets in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Dolphins. Foreman saw his highest carry total since Week 2 against Jacksonville, resulting in his highest rushing total of the campaign. Jerome Ford (ankle) was afforded the start Sunday, but Foreman saw more work in the second half as Ford hurt his ankle in the second quarter and logged just one snap after halftime. Foreman could be a sneaky DFS play in the event Ford's injury results in a starting bid for Foreman against the Ravens next Sunday.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Costly fumble in loss

Foreman had two carries for one yard and lost a fumble in Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Bengals. Foreman was active for the first time since Week 8, but his day ended quickly. After lead back Jerome Ford's 66-yard run on his first touch set up the Browns in the red zone, Foreman entered the game. He had two carries inside the five-yard line and lost a fumble on the second one. His presence in the game ended after those two snaps, and Pierre Strong was used as Ford's backup from then on. Foreman has a one-year deal and is unlikely to be part of the Browns' roster reconstruction in 2025.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Could be active Week 16

Foreman, who was a healthy inactive for Week 15, could join the active roster next week as Nick Chubb sustained a season-ending broken foot in Sunday's 21-7 loss to the Chiefs. Foreman has been a missing person for nine straight weeks since both Chubb and Jerome Ford were both healthy. Ford is expected to carry the backfield load for the Browns with Chubb out, but Foreman could be in the mix.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Healthy scratch Week 15

Foreman (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's clash against Kansas City. Foreman hasn't played since Week 8, as all of Nick Chubb, Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong are healthy and ahead of him on the running back depth chart. The veteran tailback's next chance to suit up will come next Sunday, Dec. 22 against Cincinnati.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Healthy scratch for Week 12

Foreman (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Steelers. Foreman will be a healthy inactive for a third straight game as the Browns roll with a three-man backfield of Nick Chubb, Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong. Foreman's next opportunity to play will be Week 13 against the Broncos on Monday, Dec. 2.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Sidelined for Week 11

Foreman (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints. Foreman will be a healthy scratch for a second straight game. Nick Chubb will lead the Browns' backfield Sunday while Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong serve as the backups.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Inactive for Week 9

Foreman (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Foreman won't suit up Sunday since Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford (hamstring) are both available for the first time this season. Pierre Strong will serve as Cleveland's No. 3 tailback.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Five touches in win

Foreman had five carries for 26 yards in Sunday's 29-24 win over the Ravens. Foreman, the only running back other than Nick Chubb to get a carry, played 13 snaps compared to Pierre Strong's 14. This was Chubb's second game back, and as expected his workload increased. Cleveland's top back barely played in the second half last week (one carry), but he had six carries following halftime Sunday, as his snap count rose from 30 to 42. The stronger Chubb gets post-injury, the further marginalized Foreman's role will become, and Jerome Ford (hamstring) will return soon as well.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Fewest backfield snaps in loss

Foreman had two carries for five yards in Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Bengals. He also returned to two kickoffs for 31 yards. On the day that Nick Chubb finally returned to action, Foreman brought up the rear of the backfield with just 11 snaps, compared to Chubb's 30 and Pierre Strong's 42. Jerome Ford (hamstring) was inactive. Foreman's touches have fluctuated from week to week, and he's yet to score a touchdown. Ford's return, and the pending season debut of Nyheim Hines (knee) -- who can also handle kick return duties -- could cost Foreman his roster spot in Cleveland.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Part of Week 7 backfield mix

Foreman (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN reports. Foreman will suit up after practicing without limitations Friday. He was listed as limited both Wednesday and Thursday. The Browns will be without Jerome Ford (hamstring) but expect to welcome back Nick Chubb (knee, questionable) in the backfield, which could result in minimal changes to Foreman's workload. Foreman has three games with five or fewer touches and three with 10-to-15 touches this season, but he's averaging just 3.2 YPC and has yet to score a touchdown.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Remains limited in practice

Foreman (groin) was a limited practice participant Thursday. There are a bunch of moving parts in the Cleveland backfield, with Jerome Ford (hamstring) missing a second straight practice Thursday while Nick Chubb (knee) was a full participant again. Foreman lands in the middle, having logged limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, but he may not have much of a role with Chubb on track to return for Sunday's matchup with the Bengals.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Logs limited practice

Foreman (groin) was limited at Wednesday's practice. In this past weekend's 20-16 loss to the Eagles, Foreman logged 20 snaps en route to recording 31 yards on 10 carries and 16 yards on two catches. While fellow RB Jerome Ford -- who was limited to four snaps Week 6 after sustaining a hamstring injury -- didn't practice Wednesday, the Browns backfield for Sunday's contest against the Bengals is expected to be bolstered by the anticipated return of Nick Chubb (knee). In that context, Foreman, assuming his availability, would likely work in a timeshare that also would include Pierre Strong this weekend, regardless of Ford's status.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Backfield touch leader in loss

Foreman gained 31 yards on 10 carries and caught both of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 20-16 loss to Philadelphia in Week 6. Starter Jerome Ford left the game after just four snaps with a hamstring injury, leaving the bulk of the backfield duties to Foreman and Pierre Strong (10 touches). Foreman's 12 touches (20 snaps) led the backfield while Strong (30 snaps) was on the field more often and was more productive (78 scrimmage yards). Ford's status for Week 7's tilt against the Bengals may not matter much to Foreman or Strong, as the Browns anticipate Nick Chubb (knee) being ready to make his 2024 debut.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Cleared for Week 6

Foreman (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Foreman avoided an injury designation with full participation in Friday's practice. Pierre Strong (hamstring) also will be available in a change-of-pace role behind Jerome Ford, while Nick Chubb (knee) has been ruled out and won't make his season debut. Foreman has 29 carries for 93 yards over the last four games.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Returns to practice Thursday

Foreman (ankle) was limited at practice Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. After missing Wednesday's session, Foreman's return to a limited practice one day later has him trending in a positive direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles. However, the running back likely will need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid a Week 6 injury designation.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Dealing with ankle issue

Foreman won't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. In the Browns' Week 5 loss to the Commanders, Foreman was on the field for 21 of the team's 62 snaps on offense, finishing the day with nine carries for 44 yards and one reception for 16 yards. With a Wednesday absence looming, Foreman's status for Sunday's game against the Eagles is now worth monitoring. He had been working as the No. 2 option out of the backfield behind Jerome Ford, but even if Foreman overcomes the injury ahead of Sunday's contest, he could slide down to third on the depth chart if the Browns activate Nick Chubb (knee) from the PUP list this week.

  • Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Productive in timeshare

Foreman carried the ball nine times for 44 yards and caught his only target for 16 yards in Sunday's 34-13 loss to the Commanders. The veteran back saw 10 touches to Jerome Ford's 12, and Foreman's 60 scrimmage yards led the Cleveland backfield. It's was Foreman's best performance of the season, but his role could shrink quickly again if Nick Chubb (knee) is cleared to make his 2024 debut in Week 6. If not, Foreman could work in a timeshare with Ford again versus a well-rested Eagles defense that will be coming out of its bye.
