  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Will sign with hometown team

Silfverberg will sign a contract with Brynas IF of Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan league for the 2024-25 season.

Although Silfverberg will play his last NHL contest Thursday versus Vegas, the 33-year-old Swede will join his hometown team of Brynas IF for at least one season in 2024-25 before potentially hanging up his skates for good. Assuming he doesn't add to his totals Thursday, Silfverberg will finish his NHL career having racked up 168 goals and 373 points over 820 contests.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Announces retirement

Silfverberg will hang up his skates at the end of the season, the Ducks announced Thursday.

Silfverberg was selected by the Senators with the 39th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft but spent just one season with Ottawa before being traded to Anaheim. The 33-year-old winger spent the next 11 years with Anaheim, racking up 158 goals and 196 assists in 769 games -- adding to the 19 points in 48 games he logged in that rookie season.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Two shorthanded points in loss

Silfverberg scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken.

Both of Silfverberg's points came shorthanded -- in fact, they were on the same penalty kill. This was his first multi-point effort since Jan. 25. He has three points over three contests since he snapped a 13-game slump. The veteran winger has 19 points, 95 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 72 outings in a bottom-six role this season.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Picks up helper in overtime loss

Silfverberg notched an assist in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Lightning.

Silfverberg set up a Ross Johnston tally in the first period. The assist snapped a 13-game point drought for Silfverberg, who lost all of the momentum he gained from playing reasonably well from late January through February. The winger has just 17 points with 92 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 70 appearances, with health being about the only positive on his stat line this season.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Nets power-play goal

Silfverberg scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Kings.

Silfverberg opened the scoring midway through the first period. Over the last 11 games, Silfverberg has resurrected his offense with eight points, including two on the power play. The third-line winger has just 13 shots in that span, so this surge is unlikely to be sustainable. On the season, he's at 16 points, 80 shots and a plus-4 rating through 56 appearances in a third-line role.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Notches power-play assist

Silfverberg recorded a power-play assist in Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Silfverberg has three goals and four assists over his last eight outings. He assisted on a Frank Vatrano tally in the first period of Saturday's blowout loss. Silfverberg remains in a third-line role, and he's scored enough recently to earn fantasy attention in deep formats. Overall, the veteran winger has 15 points (three on the power play) with 77 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 53 appearances.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Provides helper Thursday

Silfverberg recorded an assist in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Senators.

Silfverberg has seven points over his last 11 contests, accounting for one of his best stretches in recent years. The 33-year-old winger is up to 14 points, 77 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 52 appearances. While he's playing better of late, Silfverberg's value is higher on the ice than in fantasy as a solid two-way winger.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Chips in with assist

Silfverberg notched an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks.

Silfverberg picked up five points over the last four games of January. The 33-year-old winger's offense was virtually non-existent for about six weeks, but he's found a little more scoring pop since Mason McTavish and Isac Lundestrom joined him on the third line. Silfverberg is at 13 points, 75 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 49 contests overall.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Two more points Thursday

Silfverberg picked up a goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Stars.

Silfverberg picked up an assist on Urho Vaakanainen's tally in the first period before adding a goal 12 seconds into the third, burying a net-front feed to put Anaheim ahead 3-2. The 33-year-old Silfverberg now has three goals and four points in his last two games after scoring just one goal with five points in his prior 36 contests. While Silfverberg's current run is impressive, he's not likely to offer sustainable production while working in a bottom-six capacity in Anaheim. He's up to 12 points (five goals, seven assists) through 47 games this season.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Pots pair of goals in win

Silfverberg scored two goals on three shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Sabres.

Silfverberg opened the scoring in the first period by tipping in a Radko Gudas shot, and he buried another tally after Mason McTavish set him up in the second. The two-goal effort doubled Silfverberg's total for the season, and he's added just six assists over 46 outings. The 33-year-old also has 70 shots on net, 19 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating while filling a bottom-six role. The days of Silfverberg regularly reaching 40 points are long gone, and the rest of his playing style doesn't offer much fantasy upside.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Snaps 15-game scoring slump

Silfverberg collected a goal in a 5-4 overtime win over Florida on Monday.

Silfverberg brought his 15-game scoring drought to an end. His goal was timely, coming late in the second period to cut the Panthers' lead to 4-3 and begin Anaheim's comeback. Silfverberg has two goals and eight points in 42 outings this year. While ending the slump is naturally a positive sign, Silfverberg is playing primarily on the fourth line and consequently can't be counted on to make regular offensive contributions.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Stuck in slump

Silfverberg has gone 14 games without a point.

Silfverberg hasn't lost his place in the Ducks' lineup during the slump, as he still brings some defensive value. He has dropped to the fourth line and could be at risk of losing playing time eventually if his offense doesn't improve. The 33-year-old is on track for a career-worst season -- he has just seven points with 55 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 40 appearances.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Pockets assist in loss

Silfverberg notched an assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Jets.

Silfverberg set up an Adam Henrique goal on the rush in the third period. The 33-year-old Silfverberg continues to be inconsistent on offense while playing in a middle-six role. He snapped a four-game point drought Sunday, but he's produced a paltry seven points with 37 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 26 outings overall. Silfverberg was scratched Dec. 2 versus the Avalanche -- Anaheim's only win in the last 12 games -- but injuries among the Ducks' forwards have kept the defensively responsible winger in the lineup more often than not.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Logs helper Sunday

Silfverberg registered an assist in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Oilers.

Silfverberg snapped a four-game point drought with the helper. He's logged three assists through 12 contests in November, but his last goal was versus the Penguins on Oct. 30. The winger continues to be a depth forward for the Ducks with six points, 28 shots on net, nine blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 21 outings.

Silfverberg notched an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the Avalanche.

Silfverberg had the secondary helper on Max Jones' third-period marker. This was Silfverberg's second assist in the last three games. The 33-year-old winger is up to five points, 18 shots on net, eight blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 16 appearances. He's played mostly in a third-line role, and two of his five points this year have come on the power play as he holds down a spot on the second unit.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Manages helper in win

Silfverberg logged a power-play assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Sharks.

Silfverberg snapped a four-game point drought with his helper on Frank Vatrano's second goal of the contest. The 33-year-old Silfverberg continues to be more of a solid defensive winger rather than a big scoring threat. He's at four points (two on the power play), 15 shots on goal, seven blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 14 appearances.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Buries first goal

Silfverberg scored a goal in Monday's 4-3 win over the Penguins.

Silfverberg got the Ducks on the board with his first-period tally. The winger has two points over his last two games, but offense is likely to remain inconsistent for him as long as he's on the third line. He's up to three points, nine shots on net, six blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through nine contests this season.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Manages helper Saturday

Silfverberg notched an assist in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Flyers.

Silfverberg snapped a three-game point drought with the helper. The winger has just two assists through eight contests, and with eight shots on net, six blocked shots, two hits and two PIM on his stat line, he isn't doing much else to make up for the lack of scoring. He's still providing solid defensive work, so Silfverberg should be a fixture on the third line throughout the season, but he likely won't be on the fantasy radar.

  • Ducks' Jakob Silfverberg: Gets first point of season

Silfverberg notched a power-play assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Coyotes.

The helper was Silfverberg's first point in four outings this season. The winger has played primarily on the third line, though he saw a meager 7:59 of ice time in this contest -- no injury was reported after the game, so this may be a decision by head coach Greg Cronin. Silfverberg has added five shots on net, six blocked shots and two PIM this season.

Silfverberg provided an assist in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Kraken.
