Predators' Magnus Chrona: Traded to Nashville
Chrona was sent to Nashville from San Jose along with David Edstrom and a conditional first-round pick in 2025 in exchange for Yaroslav Askarov, Nolan Burke and a 2025 third-round selection Friday.
Chrona saw his first NHL action in 2023-24 for the bottom-dwelling Sharks, going 1-6-1 with a 4.71 GAA and an .859 save percentage. He will likely start the 2024-25 campaign with AHL Milwaukee, as the Predators are set between the pipes with Juuse Saros and Scott Wedgewood.

Sharks' Magnus Chrona: Sent back to minors
Chrona was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Thursday.
Chrona's demotion comes on the heels of a four-game losing streak during which he posted a 4.83 GAA and .854 save percentage. In a corresponding move, the Sharks activated Mackenzie Blackwood (groin) off injured reserve. As such, Chrona likely will finish the year in the minors with the Barracuda.

Chrona stopped 32 of 40 shots in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Predators.
Chrona and the Sharks had a 2-1 lead almost halfway through the game but it went downhill from there. The Predators scored seven unanswered goals in only a 26:42 span -- it's safe to say this game was a rout. This was the fourth loss in a row for Chrona and he only has one win on the season. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for goaltending help unless Chrona can dramatically turn things around soon. He's best left on the waiver wire in most leagues.

What a night to remember for Chrona. It was only the fifth game of his NHL career, and he was finally able to get his first win! The 23-year-old was the difference maker on the night, stopping all but one shot in the second period for an impressive .969 save percentage. After allowing the power-play goal, Chrona kicked aside the remaining 14 shots sent his way to backstop the Sharks to their first victory since Feb. 15. While the win was impressive, fantasy managers should stay away from him, even as a streaming option, as San Jose is still sitting at the bottom of the standings so wins will be few and far between.

Chrona gave up a couple of soft goals in the first period and then unraveled completely in the second. Anders Lee also banked a power-play tally off Chrona in the third. Chrona was recalled Wednesday and made his first NHL start Thursday versus the Oilers. The 23-year-old goaltender gave up four goals on 12 shots before he was pulled, but he did not get a lot of support from his teammates as he didn't give up a bad goal. Mackenzie Blackwood was day-to-day with an illness and is likely ready to return to action with Kaapo Kahkonen as his backup.
